Pushrods sucking explains why the 3800 series II and LS1 have made Ward's best engines of the 20th century and the LS7 was named the race engine of the year. Funny how Volvo doesn't have a single engine on Ward's list. But hey what do industry experts know?

Also Volvo's haldex AWD is an inferior system compared to other AWD systems that are currently available.

I've now converted my friend to Volvos. After being fed up with GM's BS for this long, he's ready for a worthwhile improvement. He's looking at s60s currently.

Cool, my wife got an S60 2.4T AWD a few years ago. It does 15.7 in the quarter. And I know it does 130 on the autobahn and you can talk like you're sitting in your livingroom.

Tell your friend to save his money, build up that 2000 Firebird, learn to drive, and fix that window. If he drives a ratty Fbody he's going to be driving a ratty Volvo also. It's not the cars fault. Put a turbo on that Firebird then run him again.

And get out of here with that "I thought Fbodies were fast crap" What are you 12?

i like volvo's, my friend has a 1983 244 Turbo, pretty cool car, after it got new shocks and springs it had this nasty aggressive stance. personally i think their cool cars, with the right amount of time and some smart spending they can be made to run pretty fast, and its kind of unique as well, cause like you guys say, when you think of a volvo you think of some grocery getting grandma car, but when it beats you, its a funny sight.

not bashing or anything, just my opinion, hell, same could be said for our cars.
