i didnt mean for the video to be about the drifting, personally i think drifting is stupid, and goes against what a car is designed to do, but what i was trying to put out was that they can be made to be fast, and are somewhat shocking when you see an old volvo scream by with a huge turbo hissing in your face

well, its a OHC motor, which Volvo has been using since the late 70's. Whyyy does GM have to stay with pushrod?? What is the advangages?
OHC motors tend to take up more room...MUCH more room. My Monte Carlo Z34 is a DOHC motor, and I swear to you the cam carriers are 3 times the size of the heads themselves. I love the car, don't get me wrong, but even for a poorly designed engine from GM, my car has done me well. Only major problems I have ever had from my car was a broken positive battery wire ($30 repair), ball joints (Thanks for the help with that Nate), and a leaking intake gasket. Other than that, the car has never has had a internal mechanical problem.
As for pushrod engines, someone stated earlier it is because of space, and that is something I can defintely vouch for owning a DOHC car. But if you think the technology is outdated and outmoded, then you need to look at a LS7, LS6, LS1, LT1, LT4, and pretty much any H.O. engine built by GM in the last 13 years. I mean hell, the LS6, 320+ hp, and still getting 28+ mpg.

I cant believe I just read all 6 pages of this thread, its a waste of bandwidth if you ask me.
Hey Volvo kid, post up some time slips or vids of your car at a 1/4 mile track or a dynosheet. When the tracks open this spring lets compare my slips to yours ;)
