So, there was a Global Warming meeting in DC that was cancelled today. The reason for the cancellation, too much snow.

Am I the only one that thinks that's funny?

no, no your not... but you Waite,there will be some "expert" on tv to tell us that all this snow is "global warming".... oh buy the way, back in the late 70's these "experts" was saying we was heading into a new ice age!!!! lol.....

global warming doesnt mean that its goin to be warm lol grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

its basicly meaning in short, its gonna melt the ice caps, causing weather to CHANGE around then entire globe.... it doesnt mean its gonna be warmer everywhere....

correct Big Tymer. Global warming is a very interested subject that is unfortunately overly politicized and misconstrued. I won't comment much because I believe threads like this in the past were locked. O'well

Ya, the experts state something like the melting of the icecaps will screw up the weather systems and the currents of hot/cold water in the oceans, and that will eventually lead to colder weather.

I love it when scientist tell us we are doom. There's a meeting, huge one at that, and they said that Global Warming is now irreversible. We have gone too deep now that we are at a point of no return. Even we all stop driving and manufacturers stop manufactoring, it's too late.

There's just so much inconsistancy with these scientist. First they said that it's going to be too hot that we have extremely short winters, oceans will be warm. Hence El Nino in the early 90's as they call it. They said by 2002 the polar caps would have melted away and several small islands like Hawaii, Fiji, Philippines, and Guam would see ocean rising up and will shallow them. Why is this, because scientist stuck pole out in the ocean and they said the ocean is rising up.

2006 Al Gore made a movie called "The Inconvient Truth." Which blames the Bush Admins. for everything. While during the Clinton/Gore years nothing was done to improve the environment.

Calif. was considered the most poluted state and is still the most poluted state. Tough emission law, the most toughest of all the state. The hot bed for EPA regulation and environmental nutcase and still Calif. is the most poluted state.

you have to remember, it is a minority of scientists that believe the propaganda that is being spread to America. Pollution is real, mistaking a natural earth cycle for the end of the world is not.

My human Geography teacher is all about global warming. She is all about recyclying and everything.

Ive seen the pictures and yea i see the ice caps are melting. But i havnt seen ocean levels rising or anything of significance. Yea the weather is acting a little weird but that happens every so often.

The bad thing is the ocean is conatiminated water. You cant drink ocean water. When a glacier or ice cap is melting into the ocean it automatically turns the water into undrinkable water. I just learned the other day that the majority of fresh water is stuck in the ice caps and such. I dont know why itsa big deal because we dont drink ice cap water ne way. Just alot of ice sitting up there.

My physical geography teacher isnt placing the blame on humans for global warming but its just part of earth's cycle. He said the percentage of CO2 in the air isnt enough to cause drastic temperature change. Some of the stuff he shows us also shows that it shouldnt be the cause of temp difference.

I dont know. Yea the ice caps are melting. Is it gonna cause crazy **** to happen? I dunnno. Are we to blame for global warming? I dunno. It will be interesting to see what happens in the future.

No matter who is in office, Clinton, Bush, Republican or Demicrat, blaming them for being the cause of pollution is stupid IMO. But, measures should be taken to help prevent further POLLUTION. In the meantime, I've got a bunch of old plastic bottles and a few tires, not to mention some aerasol (sp?) cans to burn, now whose with me? j/k, well....kinda

It will be interesting to see what happens in the future.

Most likely we won't be here when any drastic changes happen. ex: Florida freezing over, hawaii drowning. I mean, the Sun's gonna die out in a couple million years (or is it billion?) supposedly. My bet's on the Nukes before that ;)
