new motors smoke like hell as all the gaskets start to set in and what not

My old daytona smoked till I sold it (fresh rebuild, and about 10 months later) But it had some other issues making it smoke. It wasnt just gaskits.

did you forget to put fluid in the car? No one is perfect. some fluids will spill (i was tired and lazy with the trans fluid. some found its way on the valve cover and anything below)

I was not bashing him or anything, just surprised it was smoking because of the gaskets and seals "settling in".

only reason mine smoked after the rebuild was cause of oil on the exhaust manifold

and yeah, i just rebuilt my trucks motor... mofo smoked up a storm. damn thing still reeks of grease when i drive it. its just getting your greasy hands all over the manifolds and crap, and mixing stuff up that causes it.
