well good thing you are alright. Tire blowouts are the one thing I try and remind people when racing. You could be mario andretti but when a tire blows... its blows!

no. Civics are the safest sports cars, luxury cars, and safest exotic cars.

Yep, 5 star for both passenger and driver frontal impact in the early 4th gen. late 4th gen was 4 star driver 5 star passenger, 3 star front side impact, and 4 star for the rear seats

What was the difference between the geo and catfish as far as saftey then? Doesn't make sense that GM would change the car to be less safe ...

Unless of course its just that the saftey standards suddenly got a bit tougher..

ill post pictures of my car in a day or two.

I was being "COOL" and racing...as the bend was comming around the tire blew out, that brings my car into a RailRoad Crossing sign.

Rips my door panel off (fiberglass) and my t-top totally off. All i came out with is a "slighty" cut ear.

For those of you that think street racing is "COOL" think again...just cause you may think you can drive "good and fast like a pro" DOES NOT mean you can actually do it. Im not saying im the best but ive had experience on courses.

I will not lie to you, life hits you hard after something like this happens..My head was within inches of being Sheared off...The T-top was ripped all the way off lock and all....

The after effects shows that this was not my time to die, so I know there is something for me to do here on this Earth. I will not preach to you..(I barely goto church)..But its never to late to thank the man upstairs for your life today. Mine was almost ended tonight.

Im now looking for a Driver Side T-Top for a 2000 Firebird. Any one willing to part let me know...

                        Thanks for reading,
                        ~Brandon F~
My friend and I had his turbo volvo (lots of mods and a built motor) pegged at 147+ and we sent it into the ditch at about 130 and flipped the thing. Amazingly volvo's are ****ing tanks and we just had to get 2 windows installed and the paint is a bit ****ed up. We came out of the ER the next day and got to work on fixing it. Now the car is all ****ed up but we're back to running the **** out of it! Personally I'd rather die doing something I love (like street racing) than getting shot or murdered so **** it I dont have any regrets or second thoughts about what I do in a car. youre alot more likely to die street racing than you are of being murdered...

thats a pretty hefty statement to make by the way, saying that you would want to die racing. i dont think anyone really wants to die, you might think you do, but life is so much more valuable than just wasting it like that. next time youre flying down the highway, think about how your close friends and family are going to feel at your funeral... i doubt theyll share the same enthusiasm as you about dying while street racing or going excessively fast.

ive left my street racing days behind, not worth the risk... legal and life-related

Well my family has given up on me so I dont think they would care much about me. I got kicked out of the house last year and been on my own...they said I wouldn't make it but I said **** that I'll show them wrong. 1 year later I hold a steady job and my GPA is a 3.8 and I can afford the camaro. I guess I just dont give a **** and I like going fast. That wreck didn't teach me any bull**** about valueing life. I really do value my life but every time we do something to add that little bit of performance to his car we just have to push our limits. The wreck was simply a mechanical malfunction with the differential, so it wasn't our fault. Now that we have that taken care of and got the electronic boost controller in along with a more aggressive tune (was tuned for unleaded, now we only fill up on premium) its time to see what the volvo really can do!!!!
