Ive driven it twice in the past 2 months and i really love the car but it just sits there. Im not going to do anything to the car like mod the engine. my beater isnt worth **** and i thinking of selling the Maro but im not sure. I want something fun, with cheaper insurance, stick and doesnt have to be fast but has to be American. I was thinking of a Jeep. Idk what to do. Im gonna get the new camaro when it comes out. ill wait a year after it comes out and possibly get the convertible but im going away to college im not gonna be taking my Camaro with me so someone tell me what to do.

Re: Thinking or parting with the Maro
Easy call, keep the maro and drive the beater to school, thats what ive done the past 4 years, except with a bird in my case
I like the fact my car just "sits there" during the winter or while im away at college
Makes it more fun/exciting when you actually get to drive the car
Plus, you can tell people "yeah i have 2 cars, dont you?"2001 Pewter A4 Firebird <br />SLP CAI, B&M shift kit, B&B triflo exhaust<br />1/4: 15.139 @ 89.28 w/2.179 60\'<br /><a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/615960\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/615960</a>

Re: Thinking or parting with the Maro
umm.... whats the point in selling the car just to add another bill? youre insurance cant be that bad. if it is your driving record must suck.

Re: Thinking or parting with the Maro
Well i sorta have 2 cars. My sis has a cobalt my dad has a conversion van that he always drives and my mom doesnt drive her car EVER because my dad drives her everywhere or she just takes the van. So i drive her car as my beater. Its a 1999 cavalier convertible. My dad said when i go up to college he is gonna drive my car and there is no way he will keep it in as good of condition as i have. I worry too much about the damn car. It isnt really that fast of a car. It is damn sexy tho. I have no money to do anything to it. My insurance on it is really exspensive because i got into an accident and its a red convertible sports car. Idk i guess im looking for excuses to get rid of it but love it. Its a great summer car but not a great college/winter car.
I was just looking at jeeps on ebay and they can really hold there value idk y tho.

Re: Thinking or parting with the Maro
you don't deserve that camaro if you feel that way about it. lol. if your so worried about your dad driving it. take it with you. put it in a lot and a cover over her. she will be fine.
i have a beater that i drive everyday. the camaro just chills all the time. in the winter i will only take her out on nice days or if i have a meet. which is like 1 every month. but i love the feeling that she is there. i will never ever sell my camaro

Re: Thinking or parting with the Maro
just get different insurance.
call your damn agent or call progressive - they quoted me one of the lowest rates even with my speeding/driving record.
i know the feeling. i bought a 5+ year old camaro because my insurance on even a 2004 GTO would have been astronomical.

If you love the car and can afford to keep it, then keep it. Lecture your father about taking care of it. Otherwise, dump it and get something you will drive and equally love.Last edited by SpeedingFirebird; 02-23-2007, 12:53 PM.
