i have ran many many, and again many times from the police..... but i wouldnt hold it against any cop doing that to me at any time..... what next are they going to outlaw the police having guns?....so the guy got paralyzed... who the hell cares.. he knew what he was up against...
I have heard things like this. Something along the lines of they can only pursue if the suspect is known to have a lethal weapon
It is mostly if the suspect has committed a felony like murder, or armed robbery, kidnapping or rape and would be considered a threat if they were able to get away from the police and commit another violent act. The ones who steal vehicles(otherwise known here in AZ) joy riding, they will not pursue unless it is in there policy to do so. As soon as the Officer says to the dispatcher vehicle so&so is failing to yeild or pull over. The Sgt who is working will ask if they are in a pursuit, if the Officer says yes. The Sgt will say terminate. It pretty much sucks.
