Iraq News/Status...

I know some of you on here are ex-military and such...I was just looking for a news source regarding the war and such. Some thing less bias and shows a more 'accurate' status of the events and such besides the national news...any good sites out there?

I just listen to the boys who are coming home and to BCC news, which is a conservative, unbias news which a lot people don't get. What we hear is mostly bomding and Americans being killed and nothing else.

For the most part they seem to be good from what the guys say. More and more Iraqi soldiers are taking the lead. More and more Iraqi are being trained in military combat and policing. The British started coming home now because of it.

Of course training is the part that takes so much time. Once the their military is up and above standard, our men and women can start coming home.

But I do believe in keeping a small amount of US troops, esp. elites, to keep the insurgents and such from getting the upper hand and to continue hunting down those Al-Qeeda cells in there.

Navy flyer at church just got back from Afganistan, so I'll have some gouge soon.
I know I am glad I am retired!
A pal's son was killed by an IED in Bagdad last year, but many folks here likely know someone who has lost someone. My nephew is USAF, so his risk is small.
BBC is indeed a great source, and NPR often carries their news. NPR itself is way, way less biased than conservatives say. Thx for the english Al-Jeez suggestion!:wavey:
Myself, I think we are getting the upper hand in Iraq, but slipping in Afghanistan, where the true threat lies.
I just hope Iran is contained until their own people depose the Mullahs.

thanks guys...I often find myself making assumptions based on the national news...and really want to get another, possibly more accurate picture of whats going on

Of course our media makes it look like the Brits are leaving because they are beginning to think its a senseless war and they're tired of helping us :rolleyes:

There is no doubt that the BBC or something else will give you more accurate news then Fox News or MSNBC
