because someone will beat you with a wooden baseball bat if you work out?
Do you talk to get attention? That has to be one of the dumbest things muttered.
I see it like this. Guys have this mindset that they have to be large and muscular to feed a subconscience need for to be the alpha male. I have no problem with that at all really, you wanna bulk up and look large, thats ok. But something I have run into all my life is that people that think they are "tough ****" because they have muscles, which couldn't be any farther from the truth. Im not saying any of you are that, but it happens from time to time. These are usually the guys that get beatdown the hardest, which is kinda funny.
I will admit, I do need to trim down a little, probably be a little more lean. But like I said, this is just an observation.

i don't associate with anyone who builds muscle to look intimidating - maybe i'm just getting old.
i am sorry if i offended you. i forgot how it is when you're young and insecure.
we're not gorillas or elephant seals. in our society the alpha male drives an expensive car and makes loads of cash. other than body building competitions, do you really think any guy who is serious about weight training is thinking about achieving alpha male status?
