What is the sexiest color for a Firebird / Camaro?

Well my Firebird is black, so I guess Im partial to that....but in general, all the Birds do look mean as hell painted black. As for Camaros, I prefer them in red, or white as long as they have the orange stripes. I cant believe no one mentioned the Black/White Camaro pace car from a few years ago (1993?) ....for some odd reason, I liked those too.
You mention that Pace car in 1993, I actually liked the 1996 30th Anniv. Brickyard Pace Car, white with Hugger Orange Stripes, and white 5 spokes. Nice car.

I don't know what's wrong with that, but either it wasn't a 1996 Camaro, or it wasn't an Anniversary Ed.
Did they paint the Pace Cars to look like the 97's?

Edit - Sorry, I hadn't had my coffee yet.
Its a '97 Camaro that was used for the 1996 Brickyard race, there were 75 or so made for the race, with three outfitted with the safety lights and equipment.

I read those 3 were 96 Camaros, but were of the first 100 of the 97 VINs. Wow, I guess they really wanted them for the race.
Here's the quote from camarosource.ca...
"Three (3) 1996 Camaro Z28 coupes in 1997 trim paced the 1996 Indy Brickyard 400. Festival 1997 replicas (white with Hugger Orange stripes and white houndstooth cloth seats) were sold as used cars by Chevy dealers. All were built within the first one-hundred 1997 VIN's."
Interesting.

I can see that happening. Those official pace cars go thru a TON of upgrades and retrofits to pace the field. On ALL camaro's the top rear (where the hatch and the top meet) are flat, but on all the camaro's that officially paced the field for either the Indy 500 or Brickyard 400, that top is redesigned to accommodate the strobe lights, as well as an electrical system that would rival some of the best stereo systems around. Strobes bulb holes are drilled into the headlights and taillights to accomodate strobe bulbs setup independently on their own electrical system of switches, relay's and batteries.
Here's the part I am talking about, with the strobes.....
That is part of the body, and probably why that the Pace Cars themselves are 1996's. It takes some time to retrofit these cars so that they are able to pace the field, things like this are what kept the 1997's from doing the actual field pacing.
If you were to ever get a good look at the interior, you would notice that it is trimmed in 1997 interior, dash, console, which was like all the 97-02 cars. You will also notice that the taillights are from a 97+ car, not a '96, which at the time still had the only red and white, no amber lens on the 96's.
If I could get my hands on a MINT replica (because its far too difficult to get ahold of the pace car) that would be the only Z28 I could really own. VERY beautiful car with the white seats. And as I recall, there were some 1999 hugger orange SS's that had white leather interior, drove one, wish I could have bought it.
