Mike is nickname for Michael...88 is the number I wore for 10 years playing football as a receiver. When I was 10 I idolized Michael Irving so I chose 88 as my jersey number...what a role model he turned out to be.

In other screen names I'm usually Mike India Kilo Echo, which are the words that correspond to each letter in my name from the International Radiotelephony Alphabet used in aviation (I thought it was too long for here).

I was 10 man (12 years ago) and it was before we knew about his drug problem. By the time everyone knew about him I wasn't about to change my number.

Well not to mention the fact that there have been literally hundreds of other recievers with the number 88.. so you could just pick any one of them as your "role model" for future story reference.

I'm not ashamed to admit Michael Irving was my favorite receiver as a kid...I wanted to be different than all the kids who liked Jerry Rice, although looking back number 80 would have been a better choice.

Look out for the yeti...

Me and my friends used to have some joke about yeti's so that just became my sn... I use a different sn now for aim but lookout4theyeti stuck for message boards and halo.
