  • Daylight Savings patch for XP?

Cannot find the website to download the updater for windows xp. I've tried Microsoft's website, windows update and google, but nothing works. Anyone else having this problem?

Nope it should automatically change. But, have you tried right clicking on the time and reset what time zone you are in? actually come to think of it, whenever you click on the Adjust Date and Time, on the tab that say Time Zone, down at the bottom it will have a box that you can click to "Automatically adjust for daylight savings time", try that too.

Vanquish, its good to see you posting again man.

My computer reset itself, i'm pretty glad it did because I didn't even do anything to attempt to change it two weeks earlier. Just manually change it, and when it changes itself ahead an hour in a couple weeks, just set it back one

Mine did it automatically this morning. I turned it on and it had a little buble that said you're clock's been changed, or something like that. I was surprised, I thought I'd have to do it manually, but I didn't.

Ok jon (that's your name right?) :P here's what you do.

Go to adjust time and date, and then just set your time to eastern time zone (1 hour ahead), just don't forget to change it back next day lights savings time. :)

Other then that, I don't know what to tell you, it's weird that it didn't automatically update.

the automatic isnt working b/c daylight savings time is 3 weeks earlier starting this year. so in 3 weeks it will change automatically if you leave it checked to do so, regardless of weither you change it now or not.

Theres your answer. But is it really that hard to just adjust it manually?

Re: Daylight Savings patch for XP?

No, his computer definately has a problem. Everyone else in the entire world's computer changed for daylights savings time because it goes off of microsoft's updates, and they updated it last night at midnight, I can assure you.

There is something definately wrong with it. Maybe you need to go to Windowsupdate.com and download all the major updates that they have, that haven't been already installed into your computer and see if that changes anything.

Is the computer even connected to the internet? If you have dial-up, that may be your problem.

Mine updated automatically without even connecting to the internet. I don't see why you'd have to be online for it to update.

you have to be connected to the internet and run updates so it knows when it needs to change because it is not a static date and is determined who knows when by who knows who, just make sure your computer is up to date, and that you have the CORRECT time zone selected, and it should be just fine, i know mine changed when its supposed to, there is no patch besides windows update, and if you dont trust microsofts updates and you are running an old version of xp then you are mentally ill

Hmmmm, I haven't run Windows Update since prolly December. I've got the auto updates turned off, and all the crap where it tries to sync up with MS. Shouldn't be any reasons for it to have known unless it downloaded back then.
