i don't know wtf is going on ........... i think my brother left the computer on with the limewire (p2p shareware) on for a while .........after then i come to the computer like 4 hours later and see it's all f'ed up ........ i am getting pop ups after pop ups , my internet browser has a top and bottom advertisement portion , limewire is keep turning itself on doesn't matter how many times i turn it off ..........what can i do? .......... i think it's trojan virus ...........what can i do now? what's my cheapest but most effective solution?
First: Go and unplug your computer from the mains, internet, and any peripherals.
Second: Pick up the tower (the monitor too if you like), becareful not to drop it on your toe
Third: Throw it out the nearest availible window.*
Anyway, yea, sucks.. but thats what you get for using that p2p ****. I've ****ed up my computer twice with that crap (stupid Kazaa), had to dump the lot and reinstall my operating system :twak:

go to microsofts website and you can tell them your problems. They have a few free downloads... alot for the trojan virus which is probably what you have. Better fix it soon or later on you won't be able to get online. Or you can take it to Geek Squad and i think they charge 200 bux to clean out the whole system and install virus programs.

Do an internet search and download Grisofts AVG anti-virus program(Be sure to look for the free edition and update it regularly) and spybot. Both are free to download and both have been terrific for me over the years. I also recommend downloading a different web browser like Mozilla Firefox or Netscape. Too many virus' attach themselves to Internet explorer.
Def. what he said, hopefully AVG will be able to remove the problem, if not, then your best bet is going to be reformatting and reinstalling the OS.
Firefox is mans best friend :D
heres the links for the actual programs if you need them.
You probably have some ad program on there now. Look through add or remove programs for anything that stands out. And you shouldn't be all up on the internetz without a rubber. She gets around.
