  • considering converting to the dark side

ok not the blue oval dark side, fiancee has a mustang and while it's an ok car it's not for me, I'm talking about the vette dark side.

I have been looking at cars for a while and while the new camaro is cool and all it's just not for me. I have also considered the G8 and I don't want a 4-door, at least not until I am forced to buy one via having kids so I have been looking at.. oah and the GTO just doesn't do anything for me either..
    ..
C4's. Yep vettes perferably a 91-96, c-5's don't do anything for me. I have always loved the rounded body style of the late c4's and there are tons of them out there with low miles, plus my old roomate had 2 of them one of which was totally taken apart and put back together, the other was mostly taken apart and put back together. I regularly got my hands dirty with both cars so I'm not afraid of either. ZR1's are out of the question and honestly as cool as an LT4 is it might be tough to find. Now I'm not looking to buy one today or even next month, I acutally will likely be looking seriously around the fall once we are settled after the wedding. I might even go automatic so she can drive it (of course that kills the LT4 alltogether).

Anyway I have been doing some preleminary looking and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts.

Oah yeah as to whether I kept the bird, ehh dunno yet. I doubt I would keep it though so this would be my daily driver except when I'm on the bike.

i personally prefer C5, but a vette is a vette, and they all rock! I don't have anything to say except good luck and have fun.

I felt a little leary about trading my '68 maro for the C6, but looking back its well, well worth it.

That must have been a hard choice. Was the '68 all restored and such which engine?

Uncle has a '69 SS and my god, if that was my car I wouldnt trade it for anything. Has the 350 and everything is restored. It's to bad he wants to trade it for a '69 Z28, because or the rarity I'm guessing. Corvettes look like so much, especially after sitting in an '07 Z06 at the car show.

if you get a vette, please take this idea or suggestion into account. I see alot of black and red and silver vettes... but my favorite by far is white with chrome wheels. I saw a white z06 with a black top and chrome wheels and lets just say i about took out a bunch of school kids.

c4s are nice, before i bought the t/a i found a few with low mileage for around 14-15k, but im too big for a vette so that went out the window.

The '68 was maybe 75% restored, 350 engine - All in all, too many headaches for a weekend cruiser.
