dont assume i have no real experience with as ive had my fair share of vehicles performance modified or not, from 2.73s to 4.56s and those gears simply put the motor in a higher rpm range (resulting in your motor being in a higher powerband) making for more fuel consumption.
Yea, you have no real experience with gears and modded cars. My car has a different cam than a stock f-body...therefore, when it runs the best is different than a stock f-body. The current cam's LSA of 112* means that my car runs most efficiently in the mid-RPM range...and what a coincidence: Highway cruising for me is mid-RPM range.

i just recall from experience that higher rpms call for higher fuel consumption.
too bad cars are not that simple

remember what they say about arguing on the internet... what was it... even if you win youre still retarded.
your assumption of my experience obviously means you have no clue, your simply arguing for arguings sake.

I really like those camaros and wanted one as my first car... but if I was to go back and find one now to trade in the bird for... it would have to be a 25th anniversary in mint condition. I love my firebird and I would rather lose to a v8 with a v6 then lose to a v6 in a v8 No offense but the 305 sucks... I got rid of mine and put a 350 in the malibu. It will be tough to beat alot of the v8's out there but you can with the right amount of money invested. Paint it black and get some TT2's.

I would give up a 3.4L for that car... though the 58k original miles I wouldn't care becaue I would be upgrading to a 350 and more.

well that and I just don't really like red cars, but 3rd gen with t-tops FTW!

I dunno...i'm gonna have to call BS on the MPG...25? my 1994 3.4 camaro with cold-air,exhaust, and underdrive pullys is gettin 18. thats babying it giving it no more than 1/4 throttle and cruising at 60 miles per hours....by the way ....
SmokePanther, after reading this entire thread i can do nothing more than call you a dousche bag, you shouldnt go raggin on someone for what they do man, its their choice and can do what they want. If he really wanted that car he shouldve got it...and this sites for help on v6 camaros.not to give someone hell for what they do. anybody else agree with me?

Ok, you made your point after bashing 2 members now. The cam makes the difference. Keep it civilized now. Otherwise you may join the "banned crowd".

I'm willing to back up Smoke Panther on the gas mileage thing, even though he's kind of being an a$$.

My cammed car with 3.42s and high-stall converter gets 18 city and I don't really baby it. I'm not flooring it at every light, but it does get its fair share of throttle time. Highway it gets MUCH better than 23 though, due to the higher rear gear ratio.

17/25, hmm. Good luck with it though, it's clearly what you wanted. It's a decent-looking car, and there's plenty of aftermarket stuff for it. Definitely not the choice I would've made, but you're not me.

I don't see how 23mpg is not believable for a cammed 410 gear v6. Sounds about right.

I had an LS1 with 4.10's, I still got around 25-26 on the highway in 6th gear. The one I have with 3.42's has gotten 29 on the highway in the past. When driven properly, as Smoke Panther said, it really isn't that unbelieveable.

maybe i dont see it, but i dont know what smokepanther has done wrong. he stated his opinion and someone jumped his **** and he defended his posts with facts.

i see nothing wrong with his posts and theres definately nothing that would be deemed ban material.

the following parts are bolded that i thought were pointless and smart ellic.

Well, tough guy, you'd be amazed what our cars can do when you don't drive like a kid with a sports car. Contrary to popular belief, not everyone floors it from stoplight to stoplight, or cruises at 100 MPH on the highway.
ask them what their MPG is...if they aren't some punk kid with have some restraint when driving, then they'll average the same mileage

But, let's digress for a while...have you even driven a car with tall gears? Or, do you have the slightest grasp on how gears work in conjunction with the rest of the car? I think not..So, plain and simple, don't speak to matters that you have no real experience with.

Yea, you have no real experience with gears and modded cars. My car has a different cam than a stock f-body...therefore, when it runs the best is different than a stock f-body.
