ive read a few threads throughout my time of being a member on this site and noticed a lot of people with the 3.4 cant get both tires to spin when break torqing or cant hardly even get the wheels to spin....it amazes me becuase i own a 93 camaro with the 3.4 and it will burn the tires off (and it has 123,000 miles on it...even when it was stock, the only mods performance wise i have made are cold air intake, 80 series flowmaster cat back with cat delete....im just curious as to why a lot of the other guys have trouble...

Size/quality of tires has a lot to do with it. When I first got my car, my dad could chirp second gear with crappy tires on it. After I got new tires, 245 width, I can't seem to lay rubber in second. But I can still gun it in first and get both tires to spin.
My car is a stock '96 3.8L with a 5spd and LSD.<b><i>Don\'t Ever Judge Me</i></b><br /><a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/id/earnhardt132000\" target=\"_blank\">\'96 Firebird Y87 3.8L V6 5spd</a><br />--No mods as of yet, shoot me some ideas if ya want.<br />178,000 miles and counting

back on topic it sounds like either your tires are getting more traction than your motor can dish out, or more likely your rear brakes are holding you back.
time for a line lock, youre killing your trans trying.

The answer is gears. People with good tires, and 3.08s should have a very hard time getting the tires to break loose. I should know, i was one of those people... then i came to love 3.42s and a LSD :banana:

what if your transmission is slipping?
i had 3.42 with LSD on my 2001 v6. sometimes when i was parked on some sticky pavement, i could not get the wheels to break free even if i punched the gas to the floor and held the brakes just enough to not move. i could hear everything holding up and the rpm fighting its way up.
with my ss, i go to the same spot and give it 20-30% throttle - back end starts sliding around, ripping pavement and tires apart.
