I need statistical data for a project I'm doing on touch-typing, and input from as many people as possible on here could really help me out.

You would greatly help me by answering the following:
1) Do you have the ability to touch type? (Type accurately without looking at your fingers on the keyboard)

2) If not, how do you type?
- How many fingers
- Weird tricks you use, etc.

3) Would you say that you are happy with your typing speed? If not, why?

4) Please post your average words per minute (WPM), or, if you don't know it, please take this quick test:

1. Yes i can touch type.

2. I use all 10 of my fingers.

3. No. Like everyone else I just want to type faster to be more productive.

4. I can type 54 WPM.

3. Yes, im happy.
4. Desktop keyboard i got 61 WPM
Laptop keyboard i got 74 WPM ( way easier to type on IMO )

1. i never look at my keyboard. i always align my hands with the little notches on the f and j keys.
2. i use only 9 fingers: i dont use my left thumb. only the right smacks the space bar
3. until i could type faster than i can think i'll never be happy
4. At work so i dont have the plug in but last time i tested myself (last summer) i got something like 72 wpm.

2)9 fingers. (don't use left thumb)
3)I guess it's decent but I would still rather type faster with better accuracy.
4)Took that test, got 81 WPM.

BTW, most people that say 10 fingers really only type with nine. Very few people hit the space bar with their left thumb. :tup:

I just got 63 wpm screwing up badly, back in my prime I was up around 80/90

not compleatly i look down sometimes

- How many fingers everything but my pinky
- Weird tricks you use, etc. i dont have to look because i feel where my mouse is (laptop) and know the letters around it

3) Would you say that you are happy with your typing speed? If not, why?
yeah...its good enough

4) Please post your average words per minute (WPM), or, if you don't know it, please take this quick test: prolly around 20 ish
