So I woke up this moring and went to work and while I was a little bored I decided to check my bank account because I got paid today. Well it turn out that I have a $10 charge on my account that I never made. Wll it came from this company called WLI*RESERVATIONREWARDS or Reservation Rewards. So I call the company customer service and ask what the charge is for. It turns out that it is a pending transaction that won't go through until I commit on some email that they sent me. it appears that when I bought something 2 weeks ago online and they asked me to type in my email address 2 times to confirm that it was to confirm them in releasing my account info. How F'd up is that sh*t! So this company called reward reservations and any other company that gets your account info can pend a charge of a membership fee to your account without authorization. I called them up and ripped the manager a new one because I was looking at my email account and saw no such email that i confirmed at. They sent me a cancellation notice via email and thats that. but i researched the company online and this had happened to a couple thousand people so far in the past month so be careful. If you ever buy something online use your credit card! you have more leverage and you can cancell a transaction without loosing money in your account! FYI

I work at kroger and we had to bust someone yesterday for trying to send money to nigeria via western union. He was getting money from people online and sending it over seas. We don't know if he was involved or a victim but its a big mess. Some people just need to get a job!

working for a bank i have personally had to handle a dispute with reward reservations, there are a million other companies just like that tho, these come up ALL the time.

Yeah wtf dood, what email address do you have? is it something with aol or an ISP email address? If so i would contact your ISP and ask for a log to see if there was a confirmation email address that hit there email server. If you have some proof that you never recieved the emails/or they never sent it; then i would assume you can hold something against them. I HATE scams that people get ripped off like this, and i HATE spam emails more then the average joe. I goto spamcop.com and other blacklists and report people all day about stuff like this.

(i work for an ISP so you can see my frustration here)

i seen a lot of stuff from our abuse dept. One of our customers was actually Imitating a bank site and was grabbing peoples social security numbers.

I have yahoo but they did send a couple of emails the kicker is that for about 3 weeks I never saw one till I went into my spam account today out of curiosity. They all went to spam. Apparently the company that I bought something through released my account info to RR and thats when they pulled their SH*T. supposively in the checkout process I confirmed them to release my "billing onfo so that the bill could be processed". Thats the goofy wording. By confirming that I allowed the company to release my info or something like that. I really didn't want to talk to the manager any more. I was about ready to drive to CT and kick someone's @ss. Thy never took the money they did a pending transaction that if I were to have confirmed one of the emails would have allowed them to authorize the transaction. I went to the BBB (better Business Bureau) and filed a formal compaint.
