I know, but I'd like to wait a bit longer for the SS version to be released, or something similar. I have done alot of research so far and I really don't want to wait anymore. Besides, I can always sell the GTO when I'm about to buy the new Camaro.

Good point. Hopefully they make some changes in there before it's on the assembly line.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I have a decision to make within the next 24 hours, but I may have the GTO by tomorrow evening... The interior is beautiful, but the power of the engine is the selling point for me.
I'd like to see the exterior with some 'sorta stripes though.

For me, no manual means the car stay on the lot. That's up to you though. If yo u really like manuals, you may end up not liking the car as much. For the kind of money you are spending, make sure it has EVERYTHING you want to maximize the value of the money spent.

sounds like you're set on buying it.
if you do, i'm quite sure you won't be disappointed.
i test drove one on one of those GM test drive events where they let you race around a course with cones. i loved the suspension + power.

for the love of god, do not get the car. as a big fan of GTO's and buying a '69 when I was 17, I can tell you the new "GTO" is a disgrace. I can't even look at them.

10 bucks says you probably never even sat in one let alone drive it. My father used to be just like you, then I let him borrow it, and guess who asks me to borrow it just about 24/7?

Hockeyman, I've got 20,000 miles on my 05 now, and I still love the damn thing. I took it out of storage just this past Thursday because we got some decent weather around here. Ya know, for everyone thinking its so bland, you wouldn't believe the amount of compliments I've gotten just driving this thing around over the weekend. Mostly its people going, whoa wtf is that thing? Haha.

It's nice having something that 10 million other people don't have. I think you'll enjoy the exclusiveness and won't have any regrets with the car.

If you can get an Orange M6 with the 18's, that'd be awesome.

Your right. The original GTO wasn't a plain jane coupe with a big engine shuved into it.

When I was looking at cars I really wanted a goat, but as my only car it's just too impracticle. The dealership down the street still has 3 sitting on their lot. They are dying to get rid of them.

Just for sh*ts and giggles, why do you think it'd be impractical as an only car? I don't know **** about your climate, but I am guessing you don't see snow right?

It gets pretty decent gas mileage. Actually, it gets better mileage than your Subaru, lol. Nice big backseat for 4. Trunk is small though. Insurance is actually really cheap. Its considerably less than a Mustang GT, 350Z, RX8, STi, and G35. I got a quote on all of em :p. It's def not as safe as the Legacy though.

I found one about 35 miles away in NJ with a 6-spd, and it's like a gunmetal exterior color. I am going to look at it tomorrow when I'm done work. I have the greatest feeling though that I will seriously miss t-tops. That's basically the only thing that keeps me second-guessing.

If I were to buy it, the first mods would be intake, then headers, then racing stripes. I've already began modding it in my head :)

Sounds like a sweet color...and everything minus the stripes sound sweet

Nope, I said I couldn't even look at it let alone even get in one. It's sad they sh*t all over the legacy of the Goat. The car is for all the old guys who, for some lame reason, didn't buy one when they were young and feel cool in there midlife crisis to have one now. The other people who buy it are younger guys with no appreciation for the heritage of the car. No real GTO fan would drive one.

I would sooo pimp a GTO.

We have snow. Not as much as you, but we do get some. I really don't care how much gas costs me if I enjoy the car.

I need room for atleast two full hockey bags plus sticks and it's nice having a more "mature" car for work. I know that seems stupid, but people do judge you on things like that. I also didn't want to swap tires every season so I could drive it in the snow.

I love the car though. I've driven an auto and a T56 on auto cross courses and I've taken a T56 out on a few test drives as well. I will probably try to find a good condition LS2 in a few years as a fun second car.

A REAL F-body fan would never be caught dead in a V6.
