Re: My firebird is destroyed - pictures uploaded

I've been doing it for years and years.

It seriously pains me to walk by my destroyed bird every day.... I do appreciate all the kind words everyone has given me.

Ever since it happened... I have been saying.... can I even do it again????

I think I am at the point where I NEED to do it again.... right now there is a hole in my heart.... it needs to be filled.

        A 97 silver bird would be best..... but I think I may have expanded my search to a 96 - 02 v6 f body.

I even tossed the idea of an LS1 around..... but thought that it would be like betraying all my v6 friends.

I believe that a 2nd time around I can do it much better. And... I think I would hold off on a power adder for a considerable amount of time. With the heads, cam and stroker kits out now.... and with my knowledge and past experience.... it can be done better and lighter.

        We shall see.

I have to do a couple things before this new car would arrive: get married... new house..., have babies... ya know... the usual things.

Sit back... and wait to see.

Don't be ashamed of getting a v8 because of use or alteast your close friends. For basically all of use, the v6 community did not come by choice but financial necessity and is just a starting point. You did well with your launching point, if it is time to move on, enjoy.

                James,
I've only met you one time, but I consider you a friend. IF you are ready I am more than willing to help in any way I can get you into another bird. Wes will understand and I'm sure we can work something out with Wes to get you back in action.......

Is the Bird paid off? You could just keep the shell and replace everything else. Look at it this way: you would have some SERIOUS weight reduction then. :) I can only imagine what it's like for you. That's really sad, and I'm so sorry it happened. :( At least everyone is OK, and the insurance pays for the damage to your house, right?
