  • Does our cars have "black boxes" ?

Well, many of you know that our governor (John Corzine) was in a serious automobile accident last week. He has suffered more than dozen broken ribs, broken hipbone(in two pieces), breastbone, collarbone and lower vertebra. Now the news also say that he was NOT wearing any seatbelt. I find that very irresponsible because as a governor he should know better.Today, police processed the black box that was in the vehicle and found out that the SUV was driving more than 91 MPH when it involved in accident.

Now, here's my question, does our car has black boxes? if yes, where?also, how does the black boxes work? does it continuously records what ever i do in car or it's just a instant record when accidents occur? i am just curious

Blackboxes know everything its like a brain of its own. They record speed, temperature, sounds, whenever you turn on your radio, air conditioning, roll down your windows.. it knows everything!!!

actually depending on the state they do... I think on most f-bodies its located on the passenger side right under the hood, all the way up by the firewall. You will see a small box, with tons of wires going into it(sensors, collecting info) I'd remove it and then you will be safe when you drive.

wrong , yes they do . the inf is stored in the airbag control module under the enter console . it's accessed via the aldl connector. they recod about 10 seconds of info before the accident and 10 after . if you remoe the module the airbags wont work . it's supposed to be transparent so you dont know it's there .I forget where i saw the write up on it but gm said the resone it's there is for internal r& D so they can make the cars , suv, truck safer . i say if your gonna use my car as a tester pay me for it . personaly if i get into an accedent i'm gonna pull that little buger out.

He isn't serious. Everyone knows the black box is attached to that long metal shaft that goes from the tranny to the rear diff. Pull that bad boy out and you are good to go. It's in the tech database. Check for yourself.

                          we have black boxes.
if your airbag doesn't deploy, it doesn't do its thing.

when i tossed my 2001 3800 into a bush in the rain, the airbag didn't deploy. my insurance company made a big deal to get the title transfered and the car torn apart and inspected nonetheless.

Guys, don't respond to this post.. infact i'm going to go ahead and ask that this thread be locked. Its pretty clear from the posters grammar that our beloved Kala has infact been kidnapped and replaced with an asian imposter!

On behalf of cv6.com i demand that the asian imposter release Kala at once
