Damn lucky im in the Air Force and would kill for a pilot slot. But my one of my eyes are bad but I can still fly airlines....Good luck to you.
Go 15s or 16s! I'm a F-15 tech in the National Guard here in Jax
Blue Skies!
What do you mean go 15's or 16's? Both are being phased out and being replaced with the F-22's and F-35's. We got out first few home station 22's here today. Also sorry to say it, but more than likely the only spots open for pilots are heavies right now due to all the air craft being phased out and too many experienced fighter pilots without planes.
Honestly, I dont care what airframe I get. I've never really had a specific preference, they all have a cool mission in some way. As long as it has a motor and wings, I'll rock it
My dad has been flying on heavies (RC-135) for 27 years so it would be kind of a cool legacy if I did too.
Congrats!! About time... stupid bastards. Im not one to talk because my eyes uncorrected are borderline for the AF. Good thing im going for heavies! I hold a class I FAA medical so they can suck my balls.
1995 Patriot Red T-Topped Z28 A4

Mystery rebuild in progress.

Soon to have 383 ways to beat KBreezy and Shane. :D
Okay, long story short. I am in Air Force ROTC and was selected for a pilot slot last year. I went to Texas to get my flying physical and they found some "issues" with my eyes (which are not correctable) thus I got disqualified from being a pilot.
I called BS cuz I've always had perfect vision so I went to see 2 civilian eye doctors and 2 military eye doctors, ALL of which found NOTHING wrong with my eyes. My commander made some phone calls, did some paperwork to get me re-evaluated, but the Air Force still said "No, we will not re-evaluate him". My dad is active duty and he also tried pulling some strings and using his connections, but they still said "NO!"
We have been fighting this for almost 12 months now, and they FINALLY gave in and said they will send me back to Texas to get my eyes re-evaluated!!! WOOT!!! :D
Being that 4 docs have not found anything wrong with my eyes, I am fully confident that I will get my pilot slot back and be flying jets in the future
This should show you how much B.S. your gonna be in for. If you do get your pilot slot always remember your maintainers, especially when your TDY. If your down to earth they will go the extra mile to get you in the air. If you act like your better than them (90% of pilots) they will GAB (ground abort) you. A simple beer here or there and a genuine how are you will make your life so much easier.

He's a guard guy so they won't be phased out of his area for a while. Langley sold a bunch to the St Louis gaurd 2.5 years ago.
Hopefully the ones you get are better than the junk that landed at Langley. It took over a year to get them on a decent flying schedule. There goal for the first 3 months was 2 sorties a month. Now the 22 is great but it took alot of work to get them up and flying.

Well he said he was going fighters, so I figured he would know what the 15 and 16 are F-15 and F-16. No, there going to be here for a while longer. My squardon is trading our F-15A for F-15Cs this summer. And well have those for a while longer. I dont see a full replacement of all F-15s and F-16s for a long time....The F-15 can still kick anyones a**.
Yeh I know and the airlines arent doing them any favors right now. Being an airline pilot right now sucks.
A lot of you guys keep mentioning the cockiness of pilots, but I am a humble person who keeps his mouth shut and knows his role. Dont worry, my head wont explode with attitude, I promise :)
I know I may seem to have a loose attitude on here, but when it comes to the military Im very well disciplined and I know how to properly conduct myself :)
& the only way id join the AF if they brought back the F14 and put my name down the side :D
Good luck on the eye exam luda..
Make sure you study hard
Side note the F14 was navy.
Yeh my bro is a cocky a hole most the time. But my dad whos a X-navy FA-18 driver a very humble man and so are all of his freinds. And I'm a pretty humble guy myself, but I've never flown fighters not that it would change anything.
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
