When adding it to oil: Crankcase is 4 quarts.
Put 4 quarts oil + seafoam or subtract the amount of seafoam from 4 quarts of oil for a grand total of 4 quarts of fluid in the crankcase...
Same question for the tranny just differant numbers? Our tranny is 7 quarts right....4L60E A4?
Capacity with filter change is 4.5 quarts, and putting too much in the crankcase is bad. If you let it completely drain out, change the filter, just replace with 4.5 quarts. Best time to change the oil is after it has sat overnight, lets all the old oil drain out, or if you want, dump some motor flush in there, replace the filter, and replace filter and 4.5 quarts of oil. You can still add your seafoam after putting the amount of oil in there, because its the oil you don't want to overfill.
As for the tranny, its total capacity (I believe, don't quote me on this) is 10 quarts, but when replacing it, you can only replace with 7, because you have to get a certain amount flushed out with pressure of some kind.
