Thats right I test drove a mustang today. I didn't have anything going on today and got this thing in the mail that if you test drive a car you get a 25 gift card to walmart. I figured why not. 25 bucks for 30min of B.S. So I went and it was the only thing that I thought might be a little fun to drive. It wasn't. It was a stock auto and it seemed about like my bird. I'm sure it was lil faster but I was so disappointed. At least it wasn't all bad now I have a gift card. :D O yeah they wanted 19k for it with 49k miles.

Re: test drove 03 GT
How long did it take you to get out of the dealership? Were they dragging on your ankles when you were trying to leave? :D
I get to drive mustangs fairly frequently at work.. and you're right, they're not a whole lot different from our cars in terms of driving experience. Biggest difference (other than the interior trim obviously) is the seating position (more upright.. like a normal car) and with the 05 model cars the engine. The 4 liter v6s feel very heavy.. a bit like driving a truck really.

Re: test drove 03 GT
they arent that impressive. ive raced plenty of them and the only ones that beat me are full bolt on/heavy modded ones. intake/exhuast ones are all sound no nuts. funny watching them get pissed about losing to a slow pos lt1.
current car- 95 Trans am- bolt ons, parked and collecting dust. why? because **** it

Yeah those GT's don't do much. I know someone who has an 04 GT and I drive a 2000 Cavalier Z24 M5. I got it off the line then ran side by side till around 55 then it started to pull on me. I've also driven a 2000 GT 5speed and I wasn't too impressed. A 3.8 Camaro or Firebird with some bolt ons and gears would embarrass someone in a 99-04 GT prolly.

Re: test drove 03 GT
I have to throw out there.... you cannot even compare and auto 4.6L with a 5-speed 4.6L I drove a set back to back, a 5-speed is a COMPLETE different animal.
but I will say the stock 5-speed felt no faster then my car has when its in great running shape in the upper RPMs. BUT, the thing has power from like 2K up, while our cars feel like they are dragging. They feel to have a much broader powerband then ours, but for some reason the peak is not insanely impressive.
they will run high 13s out of the box, so they are faster by far, even if they feel similar. And that is just stock, compared to most of us being modified. Then lets compare exhaust notes... LOL I have been brave and raced a few and it ended badly for me, but I dunno if I have raced and auto yet, but most with autos are not the racing types in the Mustang world.
So $19k? sweet, I had a deal setup for a new off the lot, never titled '04 for $17,500 fully loaded with 5-speed, and the color I wanted. back in '03 And I was trying to decide if I wanted the Navy Blue with black leather, or Dark shadow gray with black leather. And they were going to swap the chrome 5-spokes on to which ever one I wanted.

ive taken the 99-04 GT's out of the hole, they catch up later on, but they are not really that much faster than our cars... kind of pathetic

My buddy has a 99 GT... 5spd. After some mods, they get pretty quick. He has CAI, pulleys, bigger TB, full exhaust, and 4.10s. Its a decently fast car, but we haven't taken it to the track yet. The Ford auto sucks balls.Don\'t Ever Judge Me
\'96 Firebird Y87 3.8L V6 5spd
--No mods as of yet, shoot me some ideas if ya want.
178,000 miles and counting

Re: test drove 03 GT
After some mods they can get quick. I know a kid that has full bolt-ons and a T56 swap in a 99. I'm not sure if he has gears or not. It runs pretty consistant low 13's and his best is a 13 flat in it. But think of all the money he spent to just run pretty much side by side with an LS1.
