We had a mac that was being built for an employee. Photoshop, Quarks, and TONS of other software that her idiot self won't ever use. There were always more than 3 programs up and the thing never missed a beat. But then again, the running total with the software was almost $10k...
I have a MacBook at home and use Macs all day at work (graphic designer). I absolutly love them. If you want a good computer, get a Mac. My MacBook can run FireFox, Dreamweaver, iTunes, and Photoshop CS3 at the same time and it still out performs my parents' brand new Dell. At work I run Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator at the same time on a PowerBook G4, and it runs well too.
