  • New z28, help!??

Ok just bought 98 z28, 86,000 miles. its automatic .Really fast in first gear. but when i punch it around 30-50 it just kinds of goes lil faster like a usual acceleration. (No screaming engine or kick in seat) ilike i said first gear, idk if thts how they r, like i doesnt really accelerate fast like i thought it would in second gear. Also really doesnt downshift on it own during then too? Ill try to get a video, any suggestion. Just seems like theres no WOT during second or 3rd?? I took it to mechanic he said he felt no problem, but ive been in trans ams and z28's. Any help please. thx!

If you just got the car I'd suggest giving it a full tune-up and change of fluids, unless you've already done so. Maybe you'll feel a difference, maybe not.

ok after driving it more. it goes WOT throttle at around 80% oh pushing the pedal down. any further and WOT doesnt engage. Ive read other poeple having this problem. Its kind of annoying cuz i cant just stomp it, i have to find the right spot. n e suggestions?

Common problem with LS1 TB's, search for Throttle Body mods on Ls1Tech or something. Wish I had a link for you.

Try adjusting the throttle cable, there's also a bump stop on the TB you can grind down so the TB blade opens more.

4L60 in the LS1 ftl. Talk about being dropped completely out of your powerband.

that is the dead spot for the 4l60e. to make this go away, look at high stalls.

Dead spot between 30-50? I know if I floor it at around 40-45 it'll kick so hard my tires spin (granted they are slightly old).

on a a4 ls1??? im guessing you have gears or ****ty tires+other mods. on my car with 3.23's it will drop to 1st up to 32 or 33 (somewhere around there) and do this http://videos.streetfire.net/video/6...b10160f2a6.htm any higher it will go to second and lag for a second then go
