Well like the title says I don't own a V6 f-body, BUT...... I am the owner of a V8 f-body. yesterday I traded a guy with a 96 Z28 for my 96 V6. I know it sounds odd but the dude didnt want the v8 anymore too much gas and he just wanted a little cruiser car. there arnt any mechanical issues with either cars. the Z has 99k on it and runs good. I might get pics up but who know...

wtf are you talking about? My car has had tons more problems than my friends 99 z or my friend's 93 LT1 (both are driven HARD, like any v8 owner is supposed to :D )....The f-body's were designed to have the V8, and adapted for the V6.

what vanbibber is saying is the car the OP traded for is a lemon

my first experience with a z28 was with a 96 camaro. it was my uncle's car and i was driving it around for a few days. thing had some serious torque, but even back then in 97 i recall it had problem after problem. all of that is overshadowed by the wot memories... rear fishtailing, tires spinning...

Dude, you got owned! Like vanbibber said, there is a reason he traded his LT1 for your car

The reason he wanted to trade it was because gas prices were killin him. And the dude was at least 55 years old and just wanted a car to cruise around in. The car runs very good. shifts firm. and lights the tires up like no bodys buisness lol. There are just little things that would need to be done with any 11 year old car. I already fixed 2 of the minor annoyences. Some may think that he was not thinkin right to wanna do this, but thats just because its not real common for people to wanna do that. We both got what we were looking for so i dont think there is a winner or a loser in this deal.

My v6 got mid to upper 20s in stop and go traffic. the el te juan gets prolly 18. and its not a perfect car. no where near it. but its just how i want it. i wouldnt want a perfect car anyways.

well trust me when i say LT1s arent the poster boy of reliability. i was going to type a long list of why, but ill just get pissed thinking of all the money ive already dumped into mine with "common" lt1 problems.
