is there really any difference between the 3.4 and the 3.8, other then the displacement?

Two totally different engines. They are about as similar as a Ford 302 and a Chevy 350.
\'97 Camaro M5 Y87 3.23 LSD, homebrew CAI, highfloCat, Flowmaster catback, Pacesetter headers, specstage3 clutch and aluminum flywheel, !egr, 2kW system.

Possible L67 bottom end w/ abbott heads and a turbo in the works... gotta do more homework

            Re: Faster than I thought

Our cars can be made quite fast with simple mods. All i have is an ebay intake, open cat dumped exhaust w/ stock manifolds, 15" rims w/ 205/70 snowtires, spec stg. 3 clutch, aluminum flywheel, 1LE driveshaft, Y87 lsd stock, !egr, !maf screen and I do 14s all day at 95+mph. Take into consideration also I only weigh 160 and I remove spare tire/jack for my runs. but still, I've owned plenty of mustang gts at the track and anywhere else.

I'm sure a 3.4 could be modded to hit 14s N/A also, but maybe with cam/valvetrain/head work, gears, lsd, and ported intakes off another motor. It's about the driving too, I have speed shifting down to a science so I lose barely any time accelerating. Any time spent shifting is MPH lost due to the lack of accelerating in those 0.5 second time frames. I powershift 2nd flawlessly and speedshift 3rd and just wind 3rd out to get my trap speeds so high.

14s are pretty respectable numbers I think. You won't get burned by mommy's stationwagon and you will keep rice, stock 90s mustang gts and minivans at bay.
