yea it's a one owner car...some woman bought it for her son, who never drove it, so she drove it to work until she got to where she couldnt climb out of it anymore. her husband kept it up and alotta stuff on it is new. for now i'm gonna hope maybe it'll turn out like my cousin's 95 he put 346,xxx on. the one im lookin at is a 95 3.4L auto
How much $$$? Besides the very high mileage, how is the body, paint, and interior???
Assuming it runs well as you say it does, I would look to pay in the vicinity of $800 for this car.
Not that you want to hear it, but don't ever think about getting a f-body period if you are young and don't have a JOB. Or parents or someone to back you with money. They are a money pit, especially with that many miles on it. You can even do all the work that will be required on it and it will still cost a pretty penny. It's expensive just for keeping up regular maintenance on it.
only if you bought a lemon or try modding it and mess things up
There are better cars out there with lower miles, and insurance will be a ***** for a 16 year old, save your money and the expenses just keep adding up!
getting an f body is a huge investment of time and money, unless your parents are rich and will pay for everything wait until college when you can get a job and support your f body with the full loving support that it deserves.
I'm graduating in a few weeks, and my first car was a handed down 87 deville. i had to get rid of it because it kept having a problem with a hose rubbing against the chassis, something like that. i have had my 95 3.4 and i got it at 146000 miles. i have put 10k miles. i seriously thought i was not going to drive it had. that only lasted a couple of weeks. i have started to break that habit about three months ago. but when i bought the car i had to replace a lot of stuff. it was a pain. replacing one thing, and a week later something else needed replacing. i work so i was able to pay for a lot of the repairs. like everyone said, take your time and look for a car. i was really exited when i was looking for camaro's. just because the owners are adults dont mean that the driver is a responable.

So true. I bought mine with 53k and it started taking all of my money around 65k. It now has 78k and still expensive as ever. I just love the look so I can't get rid of it yet.
:slap: i dont know whats wrong with your guys camaros but mine is extreamely reliable. i have 74,000 on it and ive only replaced the alternator...not a big deal. basically it comes down to that whatever car it is you cant make a generalization about all of that make and model, they are unique and if you dont beat the crap out of it, it will treat you nicely in return!....

Regular maintenance (I do a lot of motor swaps, engine work, head rebuilding, I'm not one to pass 3,000 without an oil change
99 Camaro
Motor blew at 110k
M5 blew around 70K
Rear end took a sh!t at 90K
3 alternators (1800W RMS)
2 power steering pumps
2 Clutches
At least 3 ICM's and numerous coil packs (GM placed these at a great location for when it's raining)
Numerous other replacements
F-bodies are a money pit, as others have stated
On the other hand, my 1987 honda:
Motor blew at 220k- oil pump clogged/failed
replaced with freebie motor 340k on the clock - only minor valvetrain noise
Junkyard distributor, coil, rotor - 10$
Total - 10$ and a weekend of swapping.
30 MPG = Very rewarding
Car drives and accelerates smooth. Oh no I think I am turning into a ricer.
Only 30mpg?!?! My Camaro is close to that and I don't look like a retard driving a Honda
As I told my cousin who wants to buy a Geo, I'd rather get 10 mpg driving around in a Camaro than drive a Geo or any of those other cars that are just gasoline powered golf carts.
Judging from the story - 1 owner, woman, driven to work, I'd say the car could last much longer. Not saying it WILL, but my car had the same history and it is still chugging along (187,500 as of now). You may run into problems here and there, but thats the downside of paying (what I guess to be) so little for a car with a lot of miles. I'd say do it. I got my car when I was 16, am 19 now, and as long as you treat it properly it will put a smile on your face everytime you drive it.

That may not always be the case. While it may have had an easy 200k life, how well do you think it was maintained? Driven hard or driven light, all cars need regular, full maintenance. If the previous owner is like most middle-aged women that don't care about cars, aside from the occasional oil change, I bet there hasn't been a dime spent on regular work.
