All that has broken on mine was a window switch (probably my fault), a window motor, and a thermostat.
I got my car with 87k and it now has 135k and tranny shifts firm, engine still purrs like normal, no squeeks from rear, and so on. Mine has been pretty damn reliable.
When I had my 95 camaro it had 126,000 miles on it, I bought it with 87,000 miles. I never had a problem with it just did regualr mantainace to it, the only thing that went bad was the power steering pump. I you take care of it should last without giving you much problems.
That may not always be the case. While it may have had an easy 200k life, how well do you think it was maintained? Driven hard or driven light, all cars need regular, full maintenance. If the previous owner is like most middle-aged women that don't care about cars, aside from the occasional oil change, I bet there hasn't been a dime spent on regular work.
As with any other car purchased from a private seller, it is a smart idea to ask for all reciepts from any maintenance done on the car. I thought that was common knowledge...

I wouldn't bother with receipts, whether it was a one owner car, none of that. Get the **** away from this car. It has 200K miles for gods sakes, and is about 14 years old. You have no job or money, and the insurance will still rape you, even if it is liability only, and its going to be for a car that has the original engine, tranny, all that good **** that you can replace with money you don't have. GET AWAY FROM THIS CAR, its not worth it. This things is a ticking bomb waiting to explode, worst thing you want to do at your age is beat it up more, and watch the engine explode on you.
But if you were to buy it, no MORE than $700. Thats IT. $700

And mine hit 120k miles and had a blown headgasket, which was a pain to repair that and the damage it did. Cars are funny.
