1. i was watching barrett jackson car auction seen some sort of race car that was called a mid engine vehicle i got to looking at the engine bay and it looks similair to how our motors are stuck under the cowl...are our cars mid engine cars? and 2. how common is a cracked block on our 3.8's?

well its a possiblility i have a cracked block...but im not sure...im having to fill my radiator evry other week it seems...my mileage is 223k but the block has half that cuz of a 98 swap,my freinds 00 firebird also got a cracked block and he was known for hot rodding it alot...and what about the mid engine thing?

To answer number 1: Yes, technically because the v6 is located behind the front axel our cars are mid-engined. But for all intents and purposes people concider them front engined.

Originally posted by blown00Check the oil lately? If it was a head gasket, either it would leak down the side of the motor, or it would be getting into the oil/cylinder. My guess is that if it isn't in the oil, its burning up in the motor somehow.
