My wife and I decied to name our daughter Corvette. Here name will be Corvette Charismas and see will go by her middle name but as long as her first name is Corvette thats all we care about. Also her first car will be a vette.

Also our dog is named chevy.

Corvette Charismas? Even if she goes by the middle name, it's still quite strange. (nothing personal, I'm just saying)

well, mercedes IS a true spanish name (pronounced mare-say-days), and i'm pretty sure it's been around longer than the cars have...

I wouldn't give my kid a "vanity" first name... maybe for a middle name but you know that if you name her corvette christmas, you've pretty much doomed yourself to buying her a vette for christmas one year...
I'd shoot for something more subtle... like Elenor for a girl, or Axle for a boy... you gotta remember that they gotta live w/ that name all thier life, so you gotta have their future opinion on it in mind.

Sorry to everyone I was at work when I read the thread and replied to it. Her name is going to be Corvette Charisma (not Charismas)... charisma meaning : an extraordinary power (as of healing) given a Christian by the Holy Spirit for the good of the church. Anyways yes its a weird name but its what me and my wfie like. Also no one has to live with thier name forever. I have seen some people change their names so no big deal. And if she becomes a stripper, I dont care, she will only be teasing your sons while taking their money!

On a side not Elenor is okay name but Ill be damned if some tells my little girl... I bet your daddy is a Ford guy. At least with Corvette as her name people will know she belongs to a Chevy family.

You can't be serious... i mean its just not possible... how could you be so cruel and mean spirited to name a girl after a warship/car and then compound the problem by not giving her a normal middle name?? My guess will be that she'll go by Charisma, which might be fine so long as people don't know that shes named for faith healers.... :omg:

I had a classmate in high school with the name Shevey (pronounced like Chevy) and his sister's name is Shelby.

I like the name Shelby, but if I keep living in Shelbyville I couldn't name her that.

When I was in Texas I dated a girl that was named mercedies for a while. She wasn't a stripper. I thought it was a stripper name though.

my girlfriend wants to name my daughter Russia. Over my dead body will any of my kids be named after any country or car... For all we know we could go to war with that country. How would you like to be named Iraq? OR, even a car. Remember the exploirer/firestone problem back in '93? I'd sure hate to be named John Firestone back in '93.

I knew a girl with the middle name Denmark. She was a cool chick. Of course I laughed at her when she told me her middle name.
