  • RIP: The Whiteshark

Well it's been a good 7 years that I've had her, I had been thinking of replacing her, and saving up to do so, but didn't really plan on doing it for another year or so. Now I don't have much choice. We live right off the bar street in town and this is the second time this year we've been hit. Exact same scenario last time, just not as bad. Drunk guy smashes into my roommates car, his car smashes in to mine. His was totaled last time, mine was fixable. This time I'm pretty sure they're both done for. My roommates jeep actually ramped my car, and flipped over in the yard (I had already backed it up in the first pictures, still runs like a champ!). I've been up since 2:30, can't sleep, tired as hell. I'm really going to miss this car, I bought it when i was 17, my first large purchase, paid it off 2 years later and have been happily car-paymentless since.

*sigh* really sucks when decisions are made for you. :(

You look pretty happy for losing your baby. Where are the cops if that is previlent in the neighberhood?

That sucks. I think I would start parking some where else when you get a new car.

i would setup dummies inside the car, then the next time this happens, replace the dummy with yourself after the accident, and collect enough money to buy a 100,000 new birds.

                        Why thank you :D

And to those who asked, I'm smiling because the situation is funny, i mean honestly, my car was ramped, there are tire tread marks on the hood, that's funny.

I do miss the car a lot, and I'm definitely not happy about losing it this way, but really, in a way its good. At 133k it was starting to slowly fall apart. So the plan as of now is to buy a semi-cheap sensible car (going to look at a 06 Sonata later, v6, leather, loaded, for less than $17k asking price with a ton of warranty left, hard to beat that) and then just save up for a play car (ls1 maybe, but hopefully a sky). It's really not logical for me to have just a sports car anymore anyway.

Not really sure what the insurance is going to pay, or whether it is actually totaled or not, but it needs 2 new fenders, new bumper, new hood, new winshield, new passenger door, new headlight assemblies, and whatever else under the hood was broke (still haven't opened it yet). For them not to total it, the repairs would probably have to be less than 3k, and that seems pretty unlikely.

They did catch who did it, he was arrested  He had a cut on his head and his hands were bleeding, but he made it out pretty well, he was lucky. And as for moving, nah, I like the house too much, I'll just park around the corner from now on, at least until I want a new car again ;)
