I had one place break a lug stud off. I noticed the next day and went back and they claimed it wasn't them. I guess they had their impact set too high. ****ers refused to replace it.

the so called mechanics at the firestone by my house are a bunch of high schoolers. and they cracked off the bottom of my right front fender, and lied about it. I told the owner that I was expecting ASE certified mechanics and that if I had wanted a high schooler working on my car I wold have done it myself. Its hard to find a mechanic I can trust.

firestone, goodyear, pep boys, kragen ... you have to be a belligerent idiot to work at these places. my sources advise that they test you for it. the belligerence requirement works on a sliding scale though - you can compensate for belligerence with a heightened lack of intelligence.

the cool thing about going to these places is that everything instantly jumps into "twilight zone" mode when something goes wrong. if you're lucky, out comes a manager that is no better described than a bull-headed conglomeration of his subordinate's flaws. if you haven't witnessed the magnificence of such a creature just yet, keep doing business with these places and one will eventually come out. the first time just blows your mind, but you'll come back to that circus again and again to witness the finest automotive clown show in existence.

                        here's to you, pseudo mechanics.

Firestone is a joke. There is one about a 1 mile from where I work. I went there once to have the ac charged in my daily driver and I asked them to bleed my brakes because I didn't have time to do it. The guy tried to sell me a brake system flush in addition to bleeding the brakes. I asked him what the difference was. After I stopped laughing I told him just bleed the brakes since that is the same thing.

bleeding is just letting air out of the system . flushing is pulling new fluid thru the system . two diffrent things .

Well then I guess I flush my brakes everytime I bleed them. Either way, no reason to double the cost. I know a bottle of brake fluid doesn't cost $75
