  • Zune or Vision M?

In the market for a MP3/Video player, and I've narrowed it down to these two. I'm really interested in putting vids on there (Like my Firefly DVDs), so the Zune's larger screen is a big plus for me. However the Vision is supposedly very good for videos as well, being it supports so many formats.

Any insights or suggestions you can offer me to help make my decision?

I would get the vision. My friend has got one and i've compared it to a few things, hundred times better than an ipod video, but i haven't tried out the zune so..

        Re: Zune or Vision M?

I sell mp3 players at work so Ive been able to use a Vision M and even got a Zune for free. The Zune is incredibly restrictive with file formats and you must use their software, not to mention it's kind of buggy. Creative makes it much easier. You can drag and drop if you want, and if you use their software and add videos, it converts unsupported file formats automatically.

I really don't have any complaints with the Zune once I got past the software, but if I could trade it for a Zen Vision M I would in a heartbeat.

I have a Zen Micro Photo (8GB). One problem it has is that I can't see or read the screen outside in the sun. Does the Zen Vision M have that problem as well? Also, what about the Zune in that case?

I'm ok with using the Zune's software as long as I'll be able to convert the files as needed. I'll mainly want to be bring stuff from my DVD's to put on the Zune. Is that going to be easy? What about with the Zen Vision M?

          Thanks for the replies!
