  • My Goal

If any of you remember, I have been really strapped for cash recently...however, I'm now workin 40+hrs a week and bringing in some good cash...so...my dreams are alive again for the Camaro

I was hoping for at least a 13sec NA 96 3.8 A4, stg. 3 heads, cam, valvetrain, stall, fuel upgrades, elect. wp, tuning, complete bolt ons...

Someone from Abbott Racing ran a 12sec run, however, they have alot more goodies than I plan on getting...

Is a 13.9999999 in reach for this setup?

Let's flip a coin. Heads I get tail, Tails I get head.

That is my problem too...I always end up needing money at all the wrong times...

Going to get the bolt ons out of the way, and start saving up for the engine and expensive stuff, hopefully IF ALL GOES WELL i can get it within a year

Tell me about it, did Debbie Downer pay everyone a visit and give them her usual bad, downing advice? Everyone needs to cheer up and get back to their projects.

I cannot disagree with you all when it comes to "other things" coming up when you are trying to save up for something on the car. But, that's why you have to look further then what you need, and have an extra savings that is emergency money.......just in case something happens. It will split the big savings by half, and take a little longer to save for the parts, but then you will still have that emergency money when something does come up, and it won't get you all down that you had to spend money that you were saving for a certain part on something completely different.

              13's is totally possible N/A:

              CAI
              Headers
              Cutout
              Minor weight reduction (~150 lbs)
Abbott's N/A cam and supporting valvtrain mods
              3500 torque converter
              4.10 gears
              LSD
              LCA's
              PHB
              Aluminum DS
              Bilstien rear shocks
              Drag radial tires
              Mild tune

You should hit mid-high 13's on a cool night.

cool...as of now I plan for the abbott's stg 3 heads and pp intake
                comp ARH cam, pushrods, lifters
electric water pump, 255lph fuel pump, gtp fuel injectors, tuning software
3500 stall and driveshaft and all the bolt ons and a few free mods

Mid-13's would be sweet, and I was also thinking of a small shot of nitrous, looks like high 12's would be in reach with the nitrous, i'm excited

if money is remotely a problem just plan for a budget setup...

I ran a 14.4 with intake, exhaust and stock gears...

Maybe do a cam, and a bunch of other goodies but leave out the expensive stuff like heads.

14.4 with JUST that? That's a really good time for those 3 things

I could just do a cam...but I'll just end up wanting more so I want to go big and get it done at once....then I'll prob want more then lol

                      Re: My Goal

If you get technical did it with free mods only...

unhooked intake, unhooked exhaust, removed drivebelt, Descreened MAF, !jack/spare, !front sway.

car at time had factory 3.23s and open diff

Granted its not the norm... but I think a cammed, well setup car can run a high 13.

This is not going to be primarily a drag car, I just want to take the power up some notches and get some good experience and satisfaction of doing it myself i guess...

                          Re: My Goal

get your debts handled first, even working 40+ hrs. Then think about modding later, not worth spending money on your car if you have that big debt still looming from your little golfing incident.

Just some advice. But yes the abbotts heads/cam/intake package is definitely a 13sec setup

Sweet, that's what i was looking for

And yes, I will get the debt out of the way before I buy the expensive stuff...but I'm gonna pick up some little things along the way.

But I agree with what your saying to wait...but the debt should be paid off within 8-10 months...right now, building up my camaro is my biggest motivation to get that stuff paid off

niether is mine, mine is one of the "stocker" ones on the board.

I have a stock catback, cutout, shaved stock lid, LSD, and swaybars/shocks.
