i wouldnt switch to a mustang NO MATTER WHAT IT IS...i'll never drive a mustang, specially after they made a smart *** comment bout being "no competition" in a commercial, ide prefer a new camaro or 02 firebird b4 i drove a POS mustang specially being that its a blue oval...ide pay the extra dollars for a better valued car

well it will be a fun car. I dont distinguish between GM and Ford, whatever looks good and is quick is fine in my books. I will get some pics up for you guys in the following days, then soon.....some track times.

So you think stock for stock, one of those would smoke the goat? Should I not make eye contact when I see one on the road? Haha. I thought I saw someone say stock for stock they beat up on LS1's and LS2's. I guess there is really no such thing as a stock cobra though, :p

Looks good and sounds good. It's nice to basically start off power wise where you left off with your other one. Like you said name don't mean anything, as long as it looks good, feels good and hauls *** that's all that matters.

Ls1 would be no problem, and this one is mildly modded, so i assume at this point it could take an LS2 as well.

I have to dissagree. They rarely win, but it's almost always a close race. It took Ford an extra 8 years to catch up on the HP, but they've got it right with the new GT. One of my buddies has an 01 Trans Am, the other has an 07 GT. It's always a close race.... not quite the way you describe it.

Last time I was at the track, there was about 7 new GTs there, all running within 0.2 of the LS1 cars they were up against. And they do it without running 93 octane.

Don't get me wrong, I hate Mustangs, but the new ones aren't getting raped.


And stock for stock, LS1 car vs 03/04 Cobra.... I've seen that race several times too, it's about the same difference as the LS1 vs 07 GT. The Cobra pulls the top end.

I've raced a lot of '05+ GT's, they are slightly able to edge out a strong running LT1. They're really not that fast. What they really need is a tune to get rid of the orque management, then they can hit 13.3's or so. There's a guy I sold a spare tire to that has a stock stripper Z28 M6 that nailed a 13.0 and trapped 109 all night. No stock GT is going to come close to that.

Yeah but they are still getting beat.

I just think its sad thats its been thats its been 9 years since the LS1 Camaro was first produced, and Ford STILL hasnt produced anything N/A that can beat it.

9 Years is a long time in the automotive world.

Stock for stock the LS1 will always beat a new GT, assuming both drivers are the same skill level. The new GT's run a high 13 and you could break 12's with a set of drag slicks and an intake on an Ls1. I've seen it.
