:wavey: i couldnt find an introduction page so im just going to post here if thats fine.

Hi, im 17 my name is noel and i live in toledo,ohio.i recently bought a black 2000 camaro 3.8L 5 spd. with 117k miles for $3000.not a bad deal.always loved the cars and then i found this forum so i thought i would join.i was originaly going to buy a z28 but gas and insurance iss expensive for my budget.so i thought i would find a nice v6 f-body, and bolt on some mods!! i wish to cam it so i would appreciate all the help i can get from you guys to tell me the mods i should do first before throwing a bigger cam on it.

all help is much appreciated.

ps- the driver side power window switch was stolen from the dealership and the windows wont go down so i was wondering if anyone would possibly know where i can get one besides my local auto store which is 20 bucks.

well as for the cam i would probally want a mild cam , just enough to give me a lil more response and sound.everyone loves a nice sounding car.i drool over exhaust tones.

where are you located? That would be a screaming deal around here. My sticker was $4K for 117K miles on the 96 with some minor problems last year. That was a deal for my area. You got lucky.

ehh after searching...with my budget, a cam looks expensive.maybe ill stick with just getting a slp intake and flowmasters with out cats.also is there any good chips out there? ebay is stupid if u look for chips, all that fake crap.

chips are a waste of $$$.
if you want to do any tuning go with Hp tuners.
just do intake headers and cat back.

I always thought I got a good deal on my car, 2001 firebird w/ w68 appearance package with 45,000 miles for $8000.

I kind of wish I got a car more like the one you bought for like 3k, id be alot less worried about money right now lol.

3000 bucks is a steal. did you inherit any problems with it? i live in mansfield ohio (few hours southeast of you!). paid 5500 for mine its a 96 5spd convertible and had 137k when i bought it 3 years ago. wish i woulda found a sweet deal like that i mighta had some money left over for mods.

i really like the 98-02 style better than 93-97.

yea its a nice car but the only problems it has is its missing the window switch so i constantly just have to have the ttops off.and i have to recharge a/c.has the ugly spaceship rim on the front driver side instead of the other 3 chrome 5 spokes it has.its been in a small accident but everythings been relpaced brand new.but when they repainted it theres a small spot where it was drippin.is there a way to smooth that out?

other than those problems the car is great.

but dont go crazy on the sanding my friend had to do that to his mustang and over sanded it and then the isiot put the wong color black on his car so it looks crappy.

But anyway yea i just bought my car 96 rs ttop with k&n fipk intake and a cat back exhaust problem is i dont know what exhaust it has on there because the dealership had no clue that it was even an aftermarket exhaust. But yea i got mine with 78896 for 6,000 with like 4,000 over for mods which feels real good. Probably one of the better deals that you can find around new york.

But aswell i am in the same boat im lookig to mod my car but not exactly sure where to go with it or what to do
