    Re: new v6 owner!!

sounds like you got an awesome deal for the car, id love to find the same kind of deal around here. anyways, a cam is probably a bit too much for your first mod. luckily, you have a 2000, which is when camaros started getting tubular exhaust manifold(headers) and they flow alot better than 99 and below. id suggest the usual catback exhaust and intake for your first basic mods.
    1999 v6 Camaro M5
    Automatic to Manual converted
Pacesetter Headers, 2.5" Custom True Duals with X-Pipe and Magnaflow Bullet Muffers,
!cat, Intake, 3.42's with LSD, MSD Wires, Drilled/Slotted Rotors, Hurst Short Shifter, Tuned PCM

damn guys, if u want to find a really good deal u should check out florida. I bought my 1996 pontiac firebird for 2900 with 99,368 miles on it. Engine looked new, had a 98 tranmission, new tires and rode like new. Also came with t-tops. For some reason f-bodys are really cheap around here...

if you already have intake and catback the next step should be headers and a highflow cat to finish the exhuast off. after that its really up to you. most people get a aluminum driveshaft. its a relatively cheap mod.

          for me ive always gone:
          -free mods/weight redux
          -intake
          -exhaust (headers/cat/catback)
          -driveshaft
-suspension (LCAs at the very least) suspension will be one of the things that you'll have to decide what you want to do with the car. straight line performance or a really nice handling car in the curves or a touch of both.
-if you dont have it, a limited slip differentail
-gears (depends on what you want and have. 3.08s are garbage so if you have those upgrade)
          -if its a a4- a higher stall
-if its a M5- short throw shifter and upgraded clutch (not much a m5 guru so i couldnt tell you much about clutches or manuals)
          -a good tune

after that you'll have to decide what more you want from the car. thats where your head starts hurting. deciding on heads and cam combos or nitrous kits (wet vs dry) or forced induction setups (turbo vs sc)

my best advice to you new guys is to read until your face is numb and then read some more. we all have to start somewhere and none of the fastest cars on this site got where they are without lots of research.

current car- 95 Trans am- bolt ons, parked and collecting dust. why? because **** it

Make an intake don't buy one if you are on a budget...

and I say throw a cutout on instead of a catback. that way if you want you car to be normal it can, if you want it loud uncap it. And if you can !CAT, and tune it out...

before people argue... I have yet to lose to another v6, with my homemade intake, gutted cat, and the cutout CAPPED, heck just the other day I beat a non-PI 4.6L Mustang GT 5-speed with that setup.

the gutted CAT made a pretty decent difference. I really should take it back to the track with the gutted cat and cutout open.

:wavey: hello, im kinda new too, anyway:excited: , i would suggest going for a flowmaster muffler if you don't want the whole package. if you got a little more money you might want a magnaflow, depends on what sound you like better. An intake is a good idea too though. cheers
