So im am pretty much done with all the major stuff, i should be completly done by tomorrow.
Pulling a 4l60e really really sucks.
It took me forever to get the auto off, and then when i got the auto off the converter was stuck on there because of my headers, So i had to take a cut off wheel and cut through the bolts on the converter.
Re: Update on the a4 to m5 tranny conversion Pics!!!
are you considering doing a write-up on this? maybe there already is one and im just blind, but I know it'd help alot with the whole "how do i convert to m5" questions, and may make me interested lol.
Re: Update on the a4 to m5 tranny conversion Pics!!!

Re: Update on the a4 to m5 tranny conversion Pics!!!
well im about 95% done with every thing. I got the clutch bled and i finally got the car to start.
All i need to do is get an extention for my rear lights and then put my center console stuff back in.
As for a write up, ill try my best. I didnt really take as many pictures as i would liked. Mayb i can take one of the other write ups and make it better, because the one i got from this site didnt help very much.
If you plan on doing this make sure you have lots of time and an extra car for sure, also you will need one or 2 friends to help.

list all the parts you have so i can tell you if you're missing anything, cause the list i had was missing some small but crucial parts
Re: Update on the a4 to m5 tranny conversion Pics!!!
well you will need
new flywheel to crank bolts
Small bolts and washers to mount the master cylinder, or if you can find a ubolt from a manual car that would work
some wire connectors
clutch safty switch /w pigtails
vss if your tranny doesnt already have one
reverse lights sensor /w pigtails
lower shift boot
5spd shifter plate insert for the center console
a t-5 crossmember
and a t-5 torque arm mounting bracket.
It also wouldnt hurt to get a new tranny mount
if you need the gm parts number for anything, let me know i have pretty much all the part numbers.
Then you can just take the number and type it in to gmpartsdirect.com and get the parts for really cheap.
just make sure you have all the parts, i didnt relize i needed a new torque arm mount and insted of orderning one from gmpart.com for 40 bucks, i had to get one from the dealer and it cost me 70 bucks
and what is a clutch fork, im not sure i used one
and unless you have like another 1000 bucks sitting around i dont think you would want someone else to do the work.
Me and 2 of my friends helped me on/off and it's like a good soild 2-3 day job
i started sunday night, went from 8-12. Then monday i went from 1-12 my friends helped me for about 4 hours that night. And then 8-12 on tuesday. And like i said i still have some minor stuff to do, but the car does run :)

Re: Update on the a4 to m5 tranny conversion Pics!!!
whyed you have to get a new traction arm mount ? I seem to think they were all the same . And you would only need a shift fork for the 3.4 if i remeber corretly (spel). the 3.8 uses a push hydrolic slave .
