Id rather walk than drive that POS car you own. Volvo's are for pretensious a-holes with nothing better to spend their money on. They're essentially useless, and they are only used by men who have experienced accidents with circumcision.

I really don't think that's fair to say that about all Volvo owners. I think I could have spent alot more money on less of a car also. There's nothing I would rather put my family in for a roadtrip.

Please don't lump all Volvo owners with these *** clowns.

Your girlfriend has balls? What state are you in bro?

Why cant we actually have a decent conversation/debate on this board? I just posted up to see what you guys thought about the photo. I don't see anywhere I'm dissing your F-bodys.

Brandon (slpbirdy00) OWNS a Firebird. Does that not entitle him to say what he wants about the car?

And whoever posted up that the Volvo wagon is useless, what are you smoking man? I can beat V6 F-bodys, I can haul stuff, I have 4 airbags, and whiplash impact protection system, cops don't look at me, they run forever, insurance is cheap, and most importantly, you don't look like some redneck with some "American muscle" car with primer spots and NOS stickers sitting in your front yard. Given in point, slpbirdy00's Firebird (minus the NOS :D ):

F-bodys are also one of the deadliest cars in america. I dont blame that on GM, but rather the teens driving them:

                http://www.insurancejournal.com/news...1/01/12553.htm

A bit dated, but because of the sheer number of these cars on the road, I'm sure its still somewhat accurate.

Quit flaming please. I really don't want this closed...at least until someone tells me why they used drum brakes till 1998. Were they better than disk or something?

Re: lol at this ad: *pic inside*

Rear drums were used because of brake bias from front to rear. Only 25 to 35% of your total braking power is in the rear, the rest is in the front, where DISC's are used. There are MANY manufacturers that used rear drums, and some still do. I think it has something to do with overall price, drums being cheaper at the time, but have now become more and more outdated, and disc brakes are now about the same cost to the manufacturer.

RT1, Im not lumping all Volvo owners in the same group, just the ones who come to a Fbody V6 site and announce to everyone here that V6's are crap and that their Volvo is a better car.

Does anyone alive have any f***ing loyalty anymore, or is everyone a greedy, pretensious, self-centered tool?

Its not directed to anyone here, when I get called a "meatgrinder" by the hardass above, It angers me.

anyway. I see that the Cobalt uses rear drums. It really suprises me when the cost of the new rotor is not much more than $35. I just figured they carried the drivetrain over from the Caviler and did not want to re-engineer the brakes

This meatgrinder here reminds me of the guy that showed up on LS1tech one day. He had a modded Volvo model around the same year that ran a best of 13.8 and was talking smack. We all had a good laugh.

Alright, I was just a little offended, but I'm over it now. I forgive you.

What's all the drum brake stuff? I think Volvos had seatbelts first, and probably ABS. They are safe cars, but not really something to brag about on a V6 board. I mean is more airbags than cylinders really a plus?

It depends on who you are I guess. I do prefer airbags over cylinders just because Death<Life

Most safety features on your car have came from Volvo

Tell me this, what does your 3.8 V6 run in the 1/4? I'm sure its better than a stock Volvo. Go back to 1982 when the first turbo Volvo rolled off the factory floor, and then compare it to the Comaro/firebird of the time. The Volvo was probably faster. So It's really a trade off
