I think they Look "okay" on some f-bodies w/ the bodykit. but not if your going for the Muscle look. But has anyone noticed that in those piscures that they have relocated the side mirrors to allow the door to open upwards. Other wise you wouldnt get the clearance to oppen the doors like that. And most people with a V6 Camaro probably shouldn't buy these before swaping or heavy mods.

I actually thought it would be a good idea on our cars considering how long are doors are and how much of a pain it is when you are in a tight parking spot, garages are the worst about tiny parking spots, that along with all the oversized SUV's and getting in and out with our long doors is a pain, I have always thought if they opened straight up that could make life easier, but alas it would never work properly considerng how are doors mate with the body..

          1. They should open up vertically (like Lamborghini). Look at the Lamborghini picture. It opens straight vertically. The one in ebay auction open too wide to the side. Lets say you park your car in the parking lot and there are cars on both side of your car, HOw the f*** are you going to get out of the car?

          2. It also looks like that the lower corner (sharp edge) of the door is right at the level of other cars front side glass (when doors opened). That means if you're not carefull, you can actually break someones side window glass and end up look like an douche.

          3. They only belong in Lamborghini.

          :)
Well, I wouldn't put this on my car. I generally don't like them. I know there's usually a thread asking about these things every 3rd week or so, which is why I posted the link. But I've gotta address a couple of your points.

1a. To open vertically you would have to cut into the door where the latch assembly is. This kit claims no cutting or welding is required, which renders the straight vertical motion impossible. The windows would also be a problem with a straight vertical motion. Maybe if our cars were equipped with the feature that rolls the windows down a 1/2" when the doors are opened that could be possible. I'm thinking that the G6 does this. I know it was in something at the Pontiac dealership.
1b. Have you ever opened your doors in the situation you described? These wont be opening any further than stock, which is a pain anyways. Maybe, just maaaaybe opening upwards will actually help that.

          2. The lower corner will be around the area you mentioned. However, our doors are fiberglass, and the bottom of mine has a rubber strip. Either material isn't going to be able to impact tempered glass with enough force (while opening up and outward, or closing down and inward) to break it. You'll still look like a douche with these, but that scenario isn't too likely to happen.

          3. Corvettes should be the only cars with targa tops?

Lol, enough about that. Like the general opinion here, I still wouldn't put them on my car, but they aren't horrible.

No. The only cars that should be allowed targa tops are 911s since that is what they are named after. Actually, Porsches shouldn't be allowed to use them either since Triumph was the first manufacturer to put them in a production car. We will now all refer to them as Triumph tops.

I personally think lambo doors on anything other than a Bull is ugly. I also seriously doubt anyone installs them for practicallity. People install them to get attention.

Ok I'll give you the Saleen and the CCR. The SLR is more a throw back to the gullwing in my opinion and the Spyker is just ugly... well atleast sitting next to an Aston Martin  it is.

Could we just get rid of every lambo door post. If you want info on installing or info on purchase than thats fine, but why post "what do you think about them, because I might get lambo doors"

If you like them then go for it, if not then don't. Its that simple... right? Are you modding your car to make others happy or making it to suit your liking?

I'm not modding my car to make anybody happy. I do like other people's opinions on things sometimes. Either way, like I said in my post:

Mostly just as an informative link. If you don't care, don't worry about it.
