IDK it's just unusual that someone attacks for no reason, even a black kid (not meant as a completely racist comment just personal experience). Well then do the legal route and when that fails and he does come back around give him a beating that he won't forget, just make sure he's on your property when you do.

IANAL, but I figure a restraining order will do two things
1. If/when this goes to court. he can point to it as a way to communicate the fear for his life.
2. It's following the appropriate legal channels. So when something does fail, he can say he tried everything to protect his person. aka, if he has to give the kid a beat down, he can say he followed the legal channels and yet he was still threatened.
3. If/when the kid tries to show up to do something, he is breaking the law just by showing up.
4. attempt to keep the dude from showing up and making threats all the time
I hear ya. In my second response I said do the leagal thing first. Honestly though it may do those things but it still does restrain or protect anyone from getting hurt. Life is just to simple for some people to understand stay away really means just that and not keep antoginizing.
