Calling All Members!!!

I have recently posted a thread in the "Website Stuff" forum about making some changes around here. I believe that some changes are due, and that we as a whole can help in any way we can.

Viper came up with a few things I have managed to shrink down into a smaller list. What needs to be done is getting all info we can about a particular subject, whether it be parts, installs, prices, interoperability, discontinued items, theories about how products work, and so forth. I am looking for individuals with free time on their hands who can put an honest effort to getting all the right info for each particular subject. Once all info can be gathered, we would like to update the tech database with it.

Here is a list of what needs updated...

General Fbody specs and stock info
Factory upgrade packages (i.e. Y87, W68....)
Repair and installations
COMPLETE engine specs
Intake and exhaust
General engine maintenence
Advanced engine
Transmission
Induction
Rear End
Suspension
Body
Chassis Electrical
Engine Electrical and Tuning
Braking, Wheels, and tires
Cooling
Ignition
Forced Induction Applications
Nitrous
3rd Gen Info
Track and Drag Racing Info (NO STREET RACING STORIES OR INFO!!!)
Tools and Equipment
Vendors

There might be some stuff that I missed, but this is a general list of what needs to be updated in the Tech Database. If ANYONE is interested in helping the site out, give me your name by IM or emailing me, and tell me what you think you could do a write up about to help out. And we're looking for COMPLETE info, if you want to do Induction and you send me an email talking about CAI's the whole time, this really won't work then. It needs to be complete, unbiased, and full of new info. If anyone hasn't looked at the Tech Database lately, look when you get a chance, its in bad shape. We can all do a little here and there we can get this place back into shape.;)

Do you need info on "everything" on each subject.

wat if I submitted a writeup for several subjects...

Rear ends swaps, write ups, iterchangability, etc...
driveshafts
suspension(I could probably give a write up on sway bar, shock installs, spring installs, but when it comes up to proper tips to install them. Not so good.)
Drag racing tips

but I really don't offer much info on automatics, aftermarket 5-speeds and such.


also what if I just gave out a long email/thread of something labeling each section woudl you guys be willing to rearrange them into a proper format?

Or would you mind if we did a write up on one, then just in the title of the email put the subject (suspension: sway bar install) or (drivetriain: 5-speed swap) etc...

That could work. I know I have a very generalized list. If need be, they can be broken down. If you send it to me, lemme know what exactly it is about, just like you suggested with the titles.

EDIT: I know you, Eric, have ALOT of info you can share.

I can do some write ups on detailing if that's something we would be interested in.

I don't have the in depth technical knowledge of other members, but I'm willing to help or do some research for people if they need it.

I'm gonna do a complete write-up on FI(turbo, not SC), and the problems with FI and how to overcome them. Also, I can doa complete write-up on engine flushes, transmission flushes, differential flushes, seafoam, proper way to do a radiator flush, how an engine works (in technical terms), and lots of other things. E-mail me on which topics you want done

C'mon people. I got an email from Roger with a BIG list of vendors, but I am still looking for more people willing to help. I am going to start a few writeups myself tonite when I get back home from the post office.

As for posts, I need something in more of a presentation than a post. Shodown, I like the Q and A, but can you add whatever there is from other stickies to make it into a presenation type paper? Keep the Q and A before it tho.:tup:

Dan, I like yours as well, can it be more unbiased? Something more about how you would explain another person to do it rather than how you did it would be best.

Those two are pretty good, and can probably go right into the Tech Database with little change.;)
