Ooh this actually reminds me. VW has said they are thinking about pulling out of the US market. So don't plan on taking it into the dealer for anything.
hey, buy whatever car makes you happy. After all it's your car. Me personally I hate VW. Jetta is also too common. I refuse to drive a car that's too common ;)

i cant tell if your kidding or not, but id say camaros are one of the most common cars out there :poke: not as common as a jetta, at least around here.
and about being slow, from my understanding the 1.8Ts are about a 15/16 sec car stock.. same/better as our camaros. they really get fast when you start putting basic mods on them though.
the only really valid point ive heard is how little head and leg room you have in them, but i had heard that about camaros also and its never been a problem for me.
1999 v6 Camaro M5 Automatic to Manual converted Pacesetter Headers, 2.5" Custom True Duals with X-Pipe and Magnaflow Bullet Muffers,

my sisters boyfriend is really into cars, and has an older gen jetta, or one of those types of vw's. seeing as he usually knows what he is getting himself into im sure they must be good. and i usually like the look of them too, you can add stuff to them without them looking super rice.
i refuse to read the rest of this thread. why buy a jetta when you can take your newfound taste and get yourself a luis vuitton purse?
4 out of the 5 people i know with jetta's are chicks, and the one guy i know with one is emo-ish and wears girls tight jeans so kind of counts as a chick
they're weird, i drove my ex-gf's a couple times, you punch it off the line with no wheelspin, but once the turbo hits boost it squeals the tires a little. Kind of fun to drive for 20 minutes, but it is still a jetta
It is still your descision, and hell if you want to go buy a Beetle (then i will actually make fun of you), that's your choice, whatever works for you

the leg room in the Jetta does not even come close to that in the FB. I am very comfortable in the FB. My biggest complaint with leg room in the Jetta is the wheel well. It keeps my left leg cramped up and a can't stretch it out.
One other nit. The way I sit in the car, I cannot see most of the speedo (anything over 50) b/c the steering wheel is in the way. I just use the tac to figure out how fast I am going.
Mestupryan, he dynoed 240bhp 18 months ago. (at 5,000 feet) That was before his FMIC, WB O2, and accompanying tune. It's about as fast as another buddy's 99 Cobra w/ headers, flowmasters, intake, and 3.90s.
hey, its your money.. but to say youd rather a vw than a new f-body? i just dont know what to say about that one..
before you buy a vw, check out parts for it. two of my college roomates drove jetta's.. PITA to work on, and all the parts were 2-3 times the cost of my camaro parts.. something to consider if you plan to have it awhile...
Phill

95 camaro... need money for turbo project...
94 S10 Blazer - winter beater - infinity system to be installed soon

\"The man who says it cant be done should not interrupt the man doing it...\"

what kind of problems did they have?

i'm sorry but that pic you posted is absolutely fugly. Blue wheels are a big no no. The black one is decent looking but still a chick car and about 400x more common than f-bodies. There are only about 4 other f-bods on my side of town and countless jettas.
Still trying to find oil leak on my Camaro, it’s a tough one. I think it is the oil pressure sender myself. Leaking when raving and going into boost....
