uh oh guys...

the unthinkable has happened..... the volkswagen has gotten into me :( ive recently fallen in love with the 1.8T jettas...i dont know how to explain it, but i want one some unbelievable bad now. my new car was gunna be a v8 camaro/firebird.. but i think that option is gone now.


just look..



with a simple intake and exhaust and chip upgrade these car push around 200-250 HP.. and their light.

of course, if i got one, i would definitely make sure to get a very very quiet exhaust, because im still all against ricer sounding exhausts.

they run my V6 all the time. lol one lower class import i do respect. But I'd still take the sound of a 325Hp muscle pumping v8 over one anyday!:D

I've gotten a ride in a modified Bora. It was pretty nice and relatively fast. The only thing you could hear was waste gate flutter.

I would personally take a T/A over one anyday, but different strokes for different folks.

yeah their pretty beastly even bone stock... and i prefer the muscle too, but gas mileage and comfort is pretty big to me too..

Buy what makes you happy. Your going to be the one driving it and I'm guessing paying the payments. :) Don't worry about what others think.. However, I agree on the exhaust. It's just hard to believe that some people like the sound, of fart cans or bumble beesssss... Oo But, again, if that is what they like, then it's up to them... I just don't understand it :D Again, I guess V8 owners don't understand why I put as much money as I do in my V6.... :P However my next Camaro is going to be a 2009 or 2010 V8 :D I'll just set this one to the side and drive her from time to time.

I used to hang out with a girl who drove a Jetta... I hated that thing. It was not fun to drive at all, I made her drive it everywhere.

If I had to buy a 4 door compact, it would be a Jetta GLI 1.8T. :drool:
Here's some pics of my buddy's Jetta. It's a damned impressive car when it comes to performance. He's got full suspension, FMIC, exhaust, tuning...lots of goodies. He's boosting to 20lbs right now I think.

My beater is a Jetta 2.0. I had a tough time finding a 1.8T M5 that was not beat to crap. I like the looks of the previous gen Jetta. One of the few 4 cyls I would own.

Great little car for commuting, but the thing is small. I'm only 5'8", and I get cramped. If I hit the brakes too hard, my wife's knees hit the dash (she's not that tall either).

The interior is cheap. Almost all Jettas I test drove had a broken clip on the arm rest (it opens for storage, but the clip to lock it breaks off on all of them), and my son easily broke my ash trash just playing with it.

My review in short. I like the looks and the engine. I dislike the size and shoddy interior. Would I buy another? probably not. I'd opt for something bigger.

thats bad news, because im 6'5 . was that a MK3 or 4? Because i'd be getting a MK4.

Being cramped was one of my issues. I'm only 5'10", and space felt limited when I drove. She is only like 5 foot tall so it was great for her.

Oh, and going by Google, she had an MK4. Non-turboed 2.0L, but the interior is the same in both.
