I just got offered to trade my 1996 3.8 camaro RS y87 for a 1994 TA LT1, a few goodies, 107K on the body, a non-recipt claim of 25K on lt1 and a proven 2K on rebuilt trans...
supposedly the car needs paint, not sure on the actual body condition but this seems like a good deal to me?
I'm meeting the guy this sunday to compare cars and ****...
I guess the body is fine, just chips/scratches/fading of the paint...and he wants to keep his leather interior so we will swap that out if the trade goes thru...
I wouldn't do it. If you want one that badly, go trade it for something nicer. The car is 13 years old and probably beat on! Oh yeah, and OPTI-SPARK. There's obviously a reason he wants to get rid of it. Especially if he wants your car instead!

And the TA probably looks like **** with bad paint, my car looks clean...idk, well see sunday but if he's down and this TA runs like he says it does, I will trade for sure...
not to start anything, but last time I was at the drag strip with a few F-bodies from KY, well there was about 3 v6 cars with only exhaust, cai, and headers and they were beating the LT1's like it was nothing. But I think alot of it has to do with the age of the LT1's being wore down compared to a newer v6

lt1 will tear up a v6 unless it has issues.... no if ands or butts...
Face it his car is better then yours... The only reason he would trade it is because it really is not better then yours(engine problems, drivetrain problems, just an old beat f-body)
If its going to be your only mode of transportation, no way.
I just hate hearing that the LT1 will tear up the v6. It's faster, but I think the strenth of the 3.8 and its only about a second slower or 75 horses less then the LT1. I'm not saying I wouldn't buy an LT1, but I wouldn't trade a 3.8 firebird for a LT1 trans am thats older. Just my 2 cents. If the trans am was in better shape then you described then I'd debate it... but unless the v6 is in worse shape, then I think you are screwing yourself. Sale the v6 and use the cash to find you a better LT1 if thats what you want. I will say that you will have alot of fun modding the LT1 over the v6

An LT1 will tear up the V6. No stock V6 Camaro is running 14.6's, so no, they are more than a second slower. Once the bolt ons are out of the way on both cars, the LT1 will annihilate the V6.

Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
