Well..... I figured some people would be pissed......
Look at it from my point of view...... my 10 year dream was utterly destroyed.... I've had a huge involvement in the f body world.... especially the v6 world.
I should take a pic of my v6 engine bay.... maybe this will put my decision into a better perspective.
This LT1 is NOT a race car..... it is a daily driver.... at best I will salvage some v6 parts (cat back, LCA's, QA1's, panhard rod etc). I only expect a maximum of 350 hp out of the lt1..... mods that I find acceptable are intake, exhaust, gears, suspension and tuning.
Nothing else.
This car will retain ALL emissions bits.... I want a legit, legal, and street friendly f body.
My v6 is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo far gone..... it is like standing at the bottom of the grand canyon..... looking up.... and you have to climb up the whole way... no ropes.... no safety gear etc!
BUT..... anything is possible. I have always joked about having 2 f bodies..... a V8 as a daily driver and a v6 as a race car.
Time will tell.
The v6 needs HUGE amounts of work and money...... and I don't have the time and spare cash. Yes, one could say... you shoulda spent the money from the lt1 on the v6.... but at best.... the car might be running but not track worthy or safe.
I want to drive an f body and enjoy it. That is why I have the lt1. It has decent power and is SUPER clean and stock. If I gt another v6.... I would need to do a HUGE amount of mods to get it to the level of the lt1.
The lt1 will NOT get the v6 rear..... I won't put 4:10's and a locker diff in a daily driver.
Oh well..... if you are mad..... sorry..... at least I am still in the f body world. Time will tell..... I WANT a stroker, heads n cam v6 f body.
