  • So here it is....Ellis Juan decision

I am seriously debating on if I should Go Ellis Juan or not. A guy is offering me a LS1,t56 6speed,wiring harness, ecu, driveshaft, rear end, and everything I would need for a swap for roughly 4K + shipping, this offer is very tempting, motor has 81,000K on it. The Car it is coming of was wrecked, so I don't know how well the rear held up. I love my 3800 to death but I want the roar & performance of a 325hp V8 Do you think it is worth it? Or Sould I just Focus On modding my V6 w/ a Supercharger or Turbo?

4k anticipate another 2500 on top of that for odds and ends and unforseen BS. If your upgrading you might as well go all out and do some quick mods to the engine, trans and rear give it more of that roar and power.

I was thinking putting a lightweight fly wheel and headers for now. that's all I can afford, do you really think it will be that much in misc. BS?

Check those sites out, might help you understand the cost a little more.

and depending on where you are shipping it from, its probably going to cost a fortune.

but if you can take out a loan, for like 6-7k and do it, that would be awesome.

If all you can afford is a flywheel and headers, how are you doing the LS1 swap? Throw that $6K into the 3800 and you'll have a car that hauls.

I mean tflywheel & header after the swap. lol i got the 4k easy, but thae x-tra parts are what kill me. I guess i'd rather have a fast V6 than a regular V8?

I coudl see it costing .. another $2k or more for a swap. So $6-7k for a swap...

might as well sell your car and get a v8 car with 80k miles on it for $9-10k

(don't take out a loan to mod a car)

That's the smartest decision out of them all listed! Sell your car and add that 4-6K to get a ls1 in a good condition. If you watch carefully, you'll find one at a great price and shape. THis way your hands doesn't get dirty and your ride is more reliable.

If you cannot afford the insurance increase you should not be making purchases of $4k or more
