factory equipped tires are only made to handle a certain speed rating, and your speed limiter is set up according to that for safety reasons. Get higher rated tires and then tune out the speed limiter... but who wants to go that fast on any highway anyways? good way to kill yourself...

most people remove the speed limiter as they hit it on the dyno and so they cannot get a full dyno pull unless the limiter is removed...

              Re: speed limiter

I think the biggest reason they have them aside from tires is that most morons can't handle 90mph let alone 120 or beyond. People forget to keep thinking and instead just react at those speeds. Then their cars end up mangled on the 11 o'clock news and we get a bad rep for their stupidity.

LOL I reset mine to 90mph...

I had lots of long commutes to work for awhile, I would leave late and a few times I was hitting 120-125ish, and sitting there for like 5 min or so...

I lowered it down to 90ish, so I wouldn't get arrested one day or something.

(this was when I had 30 or 1 hour commutes one way all highway)

It's tempting as hell when you get on 528 and 417 at 1130 to max it out cause there's no one around at all. I've started to a couple times but it's just not worth it to me anymore, been there done that sort of thing.
